Thought the congregation was suppose to uplift one another and bring you closer to God.

It's amazing how fast the men of the Church can tear you down.

Doubting the Work

How can men proudly bear the name Christian and leave one of their own out for the wolves because they "want to see what their options are"???

I just don't understand. These men claim to be acting in the likeness of Christ.If a man in Christ's own flock needed attending would Christ himself dismiss the man or would he kindly reach out his hand?

Here is a man who has been a Christian all of his life. His entire family, parents, brother, sister, wife, children, neices and nephews are all faithful. He has been devoted to teaching and winning souls for most of his life. He has now left his job to serve for God. Trusting in him fully that he will provide.

Yet these men won't give him a chance because of this man's PAST reputation of long sermons and prayers. Because of his reputation for stepping on peoples toes from the pulpit. Let me tell you I'd rather have someone step on my toes to get me to Heaven than someone sit by my side, watch me do wrong, then say "duces" as they part for Heaven and I hell.

I just can't comprehend. At this point I am beginning to doubt the work. I will never doubt God and obviously need to trust that he has a bigger and better plan for this preacher but as far as the work goes and leaving it to men's disgretion. . .

I'm not as big of a beleiver.

    Preachers looking for jobs get a pretty raw view of brethren. I've had people all but hang up on me when they found out I wasn't married or wasn't over 50.

    Hey I can understand where you are coming from. I hope you will not doubt the entire work because of the misguidance of a few. I will pray for this preacher, and for you. Stay strong and you are right to trust in God in this situation.

    Satan is pulling at you right now- I have seen so many forsake the CHurch because of things like this. I totally agree with you- we need more preachers that will step on toes, and shame on people who don't realize that. Praying for you.
