There is a wonderful older woman who I used to go to church with back in CO. She's in the hospital with kidney failure. I haven't heard an update today, but please be praying for her!
Thanks!

Today's my parents' 30th anniversary. Thanks for hanging in there, Mom and Dad! :)

Ok, so I guess it's time for a real update on the new Pleonast... while I'm watching a Carey Grant/Irene Dunne movie (aka, a black and white movie for non-classic movie watchers)!
I made a trip to CO in June to see the mountains... I mean... family and friends. ;) The trip was a lot of fun, and I was able to hang out with several people. It was good to see the church there appoint 4 elders. We even had several tornados break up our potluck after services!
I've apparently not adjusted to the *warm* weather yet! Although, I'm definitely not complaining! I can't believe that I'll have been here a year in just about a week! Time flies. Things are going well at the job. It's been a blessing to get to work with several people from church. This past quarter, I taught the 4-5 year old class at church. It's amazing how much can be relearned when getting ready to teach kids! I have also started teaching piano lessons. I'm really enjoying getting to teach Jin Li. She's a quick learner!
I spent the 4th of July weekend visiting my mom's parents. If you ever need to feel special, just go to Grandma's house (even when you're an adult)! A little background for the next part: my grandma and great aunt take care of my 98 year old great grandmother. My grandmother is now bed ridden - mostly due to dementia. She doesn't remember who anybody is anymore. Now comes the story behind the title!
The most uplifting part about my most recent visit was when my great grandmother decided that she needed to get up in order to get ready for church (on Saturday evening). My great aunt asked my grandma and I to come sing a little bit with them to keep Grandmother calmed down, and in bed. So, the four of us sang several songs... and Grandmother would sing ALL of the words correctly! Then, Grandma "preached" out of Luke, and my aunt led the closing prayer. I couldn't help being thankful that there were 3 generations there singing hymns and studying the Bible. I just hope that when/if I should live to be older, I wil have the desire to worship God... even if I'm "not all there."
Well, this about wraps up my life to this point!

I met Christopher and Lauren when they moved to Colorado a couple of years ago. They moved back to California in order to be closer to family right before they had their daughter, Emily. (They moved about a year ago.)
I have recently found out that Christopher has just been diagnosed with stage 3 Lymphoma. I haven't heard much more about this, but I believe that he will be started chemo pretty soon.
Christopher and Lauren are about my age - so they are young. They will have a pretty rough road ahead of them. I know that they would appreciate your prayers!
