did i mention i got a haircut??

so yeah, everyone's been buggin me to update, so here it is... i have been busy busy with work, figurin out school stuff, recording my friend's band, practicing and recording with the band i am currently a part of, etc. etc.

speaking of recording, i just finished recording with garrett, phil, and keith tonight. we spent 5 hours in the studio and got a whole song done. amazing. i am super pleased with it. its not even mixed down yet and it already sounds great. phil is an unbelievable writer. some of ya'll heard the song we recorded tonight. its "all i need to see," the original we played the third night of musical explosion, but this is the full band version. let me tell ya, its kickin' man!!

but anyway...hope everyone is doin well. im headin down to auburn the 22nd to meet with the recruiter for the pharmacy school to talk to him about his former job in the marketing department for eli lilly, and to visit with all my wonderful friends whom i love very much and miss terribly. and to hopefully meet some people ive talked to on here and hang with them a bit.

how unbelievably awesome are these lyrics????? im not quoting these lyrics from total experience, but merely out of hope that one day i can. God knows whats best for us, and as hard as it is to say, everything truly DOES happen for a reason. so lets take the bad with the good, learn from our mistakes, learn from past relationships, what we should look for and what we should stay away from. but most importantly learn from our sinful mistakes, repent, and CHANGE. i know changing is part of repentance but ud be surprised how many people dont realize that.

ok, stepping off my soapbox now. hope everyone had a fun, safe weekend. i know i had a blast. hope i can see a few more people at the musical explosion next weekend. its been a great show. LOTS of good acts. so come up and see it.

ok...so yeah, im sure most of you know by now that im in the musical explosion this yr. actually its me, garrett dean, and phil dean. alot of you have had the priviledge of meeting the latter two people and know what i mean when i say they are truly awesome musicians. but honestly, im scared to t-total-death about musical explosion. 1, we have had no practice time together, for real we have practiced a total of one time together. we have each been practicin ourselves on our own parts on our own time, but trust me, its not the same. 2, we're playin a stinkin rascal flatts song("bless the broken road")!!! it is most definitely not the easiest song in the world, especially the vocal parts. i mean, common, no one can stand up to rascal flatts when it comes to vocals(ok im sure someone can, but u know what i mean). so yeah, all that said, i would love to have as many of my friends there as possible to cheer us on. so if youre in the area, or willing to be in the area, the dates are march 11, 12, 18, 19. i would recommend not coming on the first friday, maybe not even the first saturday, cuz the first performance is pretty much our soundcheck seeing as how we cant get anyone in town at one time in order to have a sound check prior to the show. ok, now im rambling.

so yeah, id love to have ya'll there. its at Athens Bible School in Athens, AL. you can buy general admission(bleacher seats) tickets at the door for $7. so its not gonna hurt ur pocketbook too much. please pray we can pull this through cuz its totally stressin me out. ive wanted to be in the musical explosion all my life and i really dont wanna mess this up. if anyone has any questions dont hesitate to give me a call.
