Some reflections...and finally...a new post

Things I've learned recently:

- I really like making money

- A bad patient can ruin a whole day, but I have control over that

- If I don't complain to others, others won't complain to me

-I love living in a house

-I love that Nathan has to be the one who cleans off the driveway and scrape windows in the winter b/c we moved somewhere cold

- I love the colors, smells and tastes of fall...which makes the end of summer not seem so bad

- I need a lot more sleep than I used to and I still have just as hard of a time waking up as I did in college

- I miss the devos at Fort Desoto and FC on Saturday nights

- I miss my friends in Florida

-I love my friends in Indiana

- I think I'm ready to start having children but the thought of it scares the living daylights out of me...how can you possibly be ready?

- I'm sad that I have to take all the fun money I make and invest it so I can actually use it again 40 years from now

- I wish I would have traveled more when I was younger and had fewer obligations

- But most of all, life is good...and I really can't complain.

We would love to see you! We attend at TT now just in case you didn't know. You won't see us at Livingston if you go there!;) You are also welcome to stop by the house! Do you still have our number? Anyway, I really hope we get to visit! I didn't even get to give you a congratulatory hug after your WEDDING!! It has definitely been too long...

To your baby makin comment, you won't ever be ready, but don't let that stop you. You can never be FULLY ready to have kids, no matter how much you plan or how much money you make. It's always a learning experience. But it's a great one! One that is not describable until you

One of my nightmares finally comes true

We went to Atlanta with Nathan's family this weekend for the SEC basketball tournament. We were having a good time...MS State was about 2 minutes into overtime when I saw and heard the worst things in my life...

*The scoreboard and the scaffolding were bobbing up and down and swaying everywhere.
*The entire GA Dome started shaking.
*People started screaming and exiting in mass panic.
*The roof of the GA Dome was rippling and falling out all over the floor.
*I heard what sounded like a train running right into the building.
*I saw parts of the walls and ceilings start ripping away.

At first I thought the GA Dome was being bombed. Nathan thought Jesus was coming back. But then we all realized what happened... a TORNADO.

The National Weather service had only issued the warning 8 minutes before it touched down. No one had any idea that we were even having bad weather.

They wouldn't let us leave the dome until they found out that there had been a water main busted almost 2 hours after the tornado.

As we walked back to our hotel, there was glass and water everywhere. The CNN building, where we had eaten dinner before the game, was completely shattered...as well as all the windows to the Omni hotel next door. TOTAL DEVASTATION.

They moved the games to the GA Tech arena and wouldn't let anyone but family and media go, so people started leaving downtown Atlanta in droves.

It was absolutely crazy.

Thank goodness next years tournament is in Tampa.

Been a long time...

For anyone who still reads my pleonast blog and hasn't given up on me....

This has been a major time of change. I got my physical therapist license and have been busy working ever since. I'm hoping to get a lymphatic specialist certification next year.
My husband Nathan changed jobs. He was working for Norfolk Southern Railroad (due to a lack of xray jobs in Fort Wayne), but got a new job as an xray tech in the cardiac cath lab in Kokomo, IN.
SO, we moved to Kokomo at the end of July and into our new house! We have an awesome 4 bedroom, 2 1/2 bath house, about 2000 sq ft and a big backyard.
We celebrated our one year anniversary in August by taking a little 3 day cruise to the Bahamas. We got some snorkeling and sun bathing in and just missed the hurricane.
We are finally getting to do quite a bit of traveling and looking forward to the holidays to spend some time with Nathan's family.
Anyway, that's the craziness in a nutshell!

My prediction for the American Idol top 12

Guys: Blake, Chris R, Chris S, Sundance, AJ, Phil

Girls: Lakisha, Melinda, Stephanie, Sabrina, Jordin, Gina

My early prediction to win: Lakisha...her story is inspiring and her voice is awesome...she only has to make a "Mandisa mistake" to lose
  • herelizard
Voted off 3-1: Alaina, Leslie, AJ and Nick... I am really hoping Sanjaya is going to get kicked off before the top 12

D-Day

Today is November 16th, 2006.

At 10:30 will begin the moment of truth.

I am taking my PT Board exam today.

It's 5 1/2 hours of excrutiating torture.

If you have a few minutes to send some extra prayers on my behalf this morning for calmness and clarity of thought, I sure would appreciate it.
