I'm a dog.
Most people don't understand that.

Since my brother has already made known to the entire world of Pleonast that I have "exciting" news, I suppose I'll just have to share it with you. ;)
Rene Anderson called today. He said that because of the shortage in guys dorm rooms that they were opening a single suite in Sutton. He said I was welcome to be one of the eight individuals to stay there.
I of course, accepted. :)
He told me to call the rest of the people in the original suite I to be in and let them know of the offer as well. However, I only had numbers for four of my potential suite mates. Rene said that he didn't have the numbers for the others. I don't know if they will all accept or not. I'm not sure what Rene's plans are if they don't.
In any case, I think it's cool. :)

The Ohio legislature is currently discussing a law similar to the "Castle Doctrine" that has been adopted in Florida. It would allow one to use force (including deadly force) on someone who has unlawfully broken into their home, business, or vehicle. As the law says now, you would have to run to some other part of the house (like a bedroom) and hide. If the criminal breaks into that part of the house too, only then you could defend yourself (this is the case in most states).
They are also looking at revising the "duty to retreat" law. If someone pulls a gun or some other weapon in a public area with the apparent intent to harm an innocent person and you are not directly threatened with death then you have to run away (even if someone else is threatened). Right now they are trying to revise the law so that anyone can lawfully intervene.
Further, the legislature is attempting to pass laws that protect citizens from criminals taking them to court for injuries or other damage casued to them.
I hope the laws are passed. :)
On a different note, my last day of work is Saturdy (Yay!).
I think that the plan is to go night fishing with David and a guy from work. It should be fun.
I'm looking forward to going back to FC like nearly everyone else. I'm really hoping I'll enjoy my classes more this semester. I should, but I'll have to wait and see.
In any case, I didn't actually write this entry to tell you about my life, I wrote it to tell you about Ohio self-defense laws. I know your all extremely excited about it this, try to restrain yourselves.
If someone smokes Camel Lights, does that mean they're watching their calories?

That was an impressive disappearing trick wasn't it? One day I'm making entries and the next day - gone! You probably never even noticed I disappeared. I was that fast. Even if you did notice, I'll bet you didn't know were I disappeared too. The fact is though; I didn't go anywhere! Isn't that amazing? I was right here this entire time, but you couldn't see me. How about that?
Unlike most magicians though, I'll give away my secret. I broke our Internet modem; actually it broke itself, that simple. However, I seriously discourage anyone from trying this dangerous stunt at home; leave it to the professionals.
I’ve had an interesting week of landscaping. It was better though than past weeks, the person I disliked the most quit/was fired. He wasn’t mean or grumpy or anything like that, he just has a deplorable work ethic. The last few weeks I’ve had to work with him on a big job and I’ve felt bad because I didn’t feel like the job was being done well. Every time the homeowners would come out to look at how things were going I felt like we were standing around not doing anything important. However, besides the fact that the employee with objectionable work ethics quit this week, the homeowners also said that they are extremely pleased with how hard we have been working and that they will definitely recommend the company. This is good. I thought there was some other positive thing that happened this week at work, but I forget.
On another landscaping note, one my fellow employees told me I’m the biggest smart mouth he knows (in a good, humorous way). I’m sure that shocks many of you.
I found out who my mystery roommate is today (Maybe some other suite mates will be interested). It will be Nathan Scott Shropshire (or Scott Nathan, I can’t remember). He is the grandson of the preacher in Hawai’i (whom I have much respect for). I can’t recall if I have ever met him, I believe that one of his grandsons visited while we lived there, but I don’t know whom. I thought it was an interesting coincidence nonetheless.
I still think there was more to say, but apparently none of it was important enough for me to remember to tell you. ;)
Fare thee well
