A Glorious Death
As a warrior or a man…
My purpose is the same.
To love, honor and protect,
The weaker in life’s “game”
Something wicked approaches,
drifting clouds obscure the moon.
The warrior must stand, hold evil at bay,
Protection his duty, he sends them away.
Led by his spirit, safety they pursue,
He turns and rushes toward the terror.
The battle is fierce with fang and claw,
And like an arrow he is destined to fall.
Casting a gaze at those who are dear
Seeing them safely over he feels no fear…
The warrior falls and ravens call…
He stands alone on the banks of the Lethe
His crimson blood clouding the river.
Drink deeply now, cross over and rest
Tis’ for him to dwell in Elysium.
