It's been a long time since I've written anything. I just wanted to let everyone know I'm still alive. As most of you know Angela is on dialysis and needs a kidney transplant. I am in the process of being tested to see if I would be a compatible donor. Prayers would be much appreciated.

It's been a long time since my last entry. I've had so many irons in the fire, something had to give.
Well, we had a buyer for the house but the deal fell through on the day of closing. The house is back on the market and I'm confident we'll get another offer soon. It has been a pretty frustrating process thus far, but I trust it will improve. I can't very well trust God to do it in His time and get upset because I think He's taking too long. That wouldn't make a whole lot of sense. Please keep us in your prayers. I'll try to keep everyone posted as often as I can.

We have a house in Killeen that we have been renting out since last July. I thought we had another month before the renters were moving out, but I found out last week that they are moving out on the 30th. John and I went up to see the house, which the renters have taken really good care of. My wife and I have decided to sell and are going to push real hard to get it sold before the middle of August. All of your prayers will be appreciated. We are going to plan a day to fix up the house to sell(painting, landscaping, etc). If you are interested in helping out, please let me know.

Last week as I was driving home from work, I was cut off in traffic. This guy had passed me on the left, pulled in front of me and slowed down(an everyday occurence in Austin). When I tried to pass him on the left, he jumped in front of me and took off like a light.Eventually I ended up next to the guy. He was making some type of gesture with his hand so I looked over, assuming he was trying to apologize. What I saw was an older gentleman, stark raving mad. Hair flying everywhere, fist pumping. I thought, "What was that about?" As we continued to drive, he ended up in front of me again. We were just about at Lakeline Mall when we had to stop at a light. I decided I was going to roll down my window and pull beside him to see if everthing was okay. I work with older people and thought he might need some help because he didn't look well. He seemed really out of it.
As I was rolling the window down, the guy jumps out of his car screaming, with something in his hand. He rushes toward my open window and shoves a bottle of pepper spray in my face yelling, "You cut me off! You cut me off!" I explained to him that I didn't think I cut him off. He "offered" to spray my eyes anyway. After a few moments I think he realized we were holding up traffic and got back in his car.
I called the police and followed the guy into the mall parking lot. The guy got out of his car and headed into the mall. As I was describing him to the police I almost wanted to just call the whole thing off(5'2"-5'5", 60-70 year old white male, wearing a striped polo shirt, khaki shorts, white socks and tennis shoes). I gotta Tell you, I felt a little funny about the whole thing. But I knew if he had done the same thing to the wrong person, he might be dead.
When the officer asked if I wanted to press charges I said "No". Maybe he just lost his wife. Maybe he was tired of these young whipper-snappers taking over the world. Or maybe he was just having a really bad day. Either way, I felt bad for him just the same. I just asked the officer to explain to him, when he got back to his car, how fortunate he was that it was me he threatened to pepper spray instead of someone else who was having a really bad day. The officer, who was about 5'6", looking up at me, smiled and nodded in agreement.

I am 6' 2" and weigh 260 lbs. I was born and raised in Alaska (hence my user name). How I got to Texas is a long story, so I won't bore you with the details. I am (usually) happily married and have four "babies". I have been a disciple of Jesus Christ for about 14 years with many ups and downs. I enjoy deep bible study and am not afraid to consider different ideas. I also enjoy teaching God's word, but try to avoid pushing any of my "crazy" ideas.
I enjoy human history and history of word origins(not necessarily biblical). I like playing and watching basketball. I have been training in Aikido(martial art) for about two years.
