Great Movie

Well, I had a very relaxing day today. Aside from the tornado warnings for a good part of the afternoon, I had a very enjoyable day with my family. One highlight of the day is when Kylee was playing with her babies and I said, "You're a good mama, aren't you?" And she said, "No, you are a good mama." And I said, "Well, thank you." And her response was, "No problem." (Remember she is 2!!)

After dinner, we watched the Bee Movie with Nathaniel and Kylee...well, Kylee lasted about 10 minutes, but Jeremy, Nathaniel, and I enjoyed it. Then after the kids went to bed, Jeremy and I watched Dan in Real Life. GREAT movie! Very clean, funny, tear-jerking at times, all around good movie. Check it out!

That office guy is really ramping up in his career! We had no damage from the storm but it was nasty and we were in the basement. We got pea hail, then gumball, then golfball. Never got baseball. I was really thinking we would lose our bradford pear. The one on the righ snapped at the trunk last year and we have lost a peice of the other one. But no... it stands. How bout you?

Hey Leslie! Glad to hear you were safe in the storm a couple weeks ago! I have wanted to see the Bee Movie ever since it came out! I really liked Dan in Real Life! I was shocked that it was clean!! I was also expecting Office-esque humor, so I was very surprised to see that Steve Carell is that versatile with his characters... Movies-smovies, I miss you guys! And now I'm even farther away than ever!! We moved from Woodstock! Are you ever up towards this way?? Tell Jeremy and the kiddos I said hello! :)

I was just in AZ on vacation and ran into one of your friends. I feel horrible, but for now I cannot remember her name. I definitely remember her from the year she and Janell came to camp with you, but I was chasing after two children and my longterm memory leaves something to be desired. She was doing well and it was wild to run into her when I was all the way around the country.

Unbelievable!!!

So on Saturday my in-laws were here and they were getting ready to grill out. My father-in-law opens the lid to the grill and says, "Jeremy, what does Leslie's wallet look like?" Jeremy said, "No, way!" Apparently Jeremy's first day at his new job, he took the van, because he was trying to fix his truck and it was in pieces, so when he was getting ready to leave, he saw my wallet in the van so he took it out. Not wanting to wake the kids by opening the garage door and being in a hurry, he put it in the grill and put the lid on it, thinking he would call me later to tell me where he put it. Then he forgot completely about it! I can not believe it has been found!!! I am so happy and relieved that I am not losing my mind! Just had to share that with you all! :-)
  • smiley_beth
And here you were blaming yourself and post-child brain loss. Glad you found it.

Glad you are doing well! Yes #4 is on the way, and we'll see how my sanity holds out! I married Kevin Wise, who I met at Purdue during school. This is actually our second time in Georgia (Fayetteville area), but we love it here. What part of GA are you in? I've seen the pictures of your kids you have posted, and they are adorable. I can't imagine having a 7 yr old. My oldest is almost 5 and it's amazing how quickly the time goes!

Lost and Found

Okay, any other mothers out there who seem to misplace VERY important things and then find them days or weeks later? Over the past two months, I have lost my driver's license (ordered a new one, and found the old one the next day), lost my cell phone for probably a month (got a new "go" phone) and then Jeremy found the phone in his truck. Now I have lost my wallet. I don't have a clue where it is. I feel like an idiot. I just can't figure out where it is, but I don't think it is in the wrong hands or anything, it is just sitting there somewhere waiting to be found. Do you lose brain cells with the birth of each child or what?
  • belle
Haha! Well, if that's the case, I'm scared! I do those things now...and I don't have any kids! :) Hope you find it! I hate the feeling of not knowing where something is...especially if it's important! I remember when my mom would lose something she'd offer whichever kid could find it $1. It was usually found pretty quickly!
    by belle at 02/08/08 11:00AM
  • mjunut
I don't know about the loss of brain cells in particular but I do know that when your hormones are askue you brain doesn't think straigh. Take if from one who knows. Feed that brain!!
    by mjunut at 02/08/08 1:15PM
  • tandielq
I am fairly confident that you lose brain cells with each child, even if you don't physically birth them!! I lost my wedding ring and once we were confident that it was truly lost, we bought another... Fast forward 2 months... I found it last week while cleaning Ian's room!

Brian has a theory about lost things.... you find them as soon as you replace them. Seriously... It works everytime.
    by cbaird at 02/13/08 1:30PM
  • cdillman23
I believe that we do lose brain cells with child birth!! I was never late on paying bills until after having kids. I also would lose thing and forget things. After a few months, things would go back to normal but I can totally understand!!

I just lost my debit card. Lost my cell phone-got a new one. I had lost my keys for 6 months, and recently I stored a pot of homemade chili in the cabinet(not the fridge) only to find it a week later... yeah gross. So I completely understand- i feel dumb all the time.

Ethan is 4 1/2 and Jackson is 3. They're really great kids! We haven't decided on a name yet. We've narrowed it down to a few, but we like to wait until we meet the baby before we decide on just one. Sometimes, they just don't look like the name you thought you wanted. We don't tell what we've narrowed it down to. There are some very...opinionated people in our family, and we don't want to hear all the, "Really? You like THAT name?" comments! :)
