A Little Info

For those who have patiently stuck with me and this two month old blog message, I appreciate your tolerance. I know you will be so surprised to come once again, just to check, and have to blink twice because there is something new here It seems I find it more interesting to read all of your blogs than to write on mine.

I baby-sit our 11 month old granddaughter and so I’m occupied during her awake time. She is a sweet thing but she does not sleep long during her naps. We have a routine and schedule things like feeding and watering horses, a few of our chores. You have to really plan your time for those events, especially since Padro often has a list for me too.

I had a golf cart to help me with getting to our chores but it has now been sold. SueAnn would be seated on a fluffy pillow and bound with a wide tie around her middle to serve as her seat belt. It slides over the cart seat. She crosses her legs, sings, laughs, and enjoys the outdoors. This is the only way I can carry her any distance because she is a bit heavy. She should be walking soon, and she really likes her independence.

We review pictures of her aunt, uncle, and cousins in Indiana. I am not sure what she thinks of my stories about them but I can tell she knows they are important people to me. I know they would love to have more visits together too.

Well, now you see where most of my thoughts go. I care about others and my responsibilities but I love these babies. So, since I have at least written something, maybe I will come up with another thing a little quicker this time. Hope you weren’t too bored.

Well, I certainly enjoyed this post. We know what fills your heart! We love you, too, and we are looking forward to your visit next weekend. :) We all miss all of you and want to see SueAnn so badly. Brianna still asks if babies we see out are SueAnn.

An over due update ---

I know a great number of weeks separate this post from the last, but I will be writing about more current things.

I am delighted that Braedon has had two great days of school as he begins kindergarten. He is happy, met 2 new friends, likes his teacher, and drank chocolate milk (a big deal – he said Mommy doesn’t let him drink it because it makes him “wild”). And, yesterday he drank strawberry milk. I will not write any more. His mommy will likely update her blog and I do not want to take any more info from her. I am also happy she is handling this new transition.

I want to mention I had a ‘bad’ tick bite two weeks ago that required doctor attention. He said it is Lyme disease but the blood report from yesterday was negative. To that, he said they often come back that way whether you catch it early or not (to which I wondered why bother with the test then). Anyway, I must continue with the full 3 weeks of medication and then check the blood again at 6 weeks. I have had some different sensations from my usual pains but most of that has lessened now.

I hope everyone has a wonderful Sunday.

Note

I have now visited my friends and tried to catch up on your activities etc. It was fun to share your great pictures. Many made me smile and reminisce. Some of you have been really busy! I think all of you must type super fast too, in order to post as often as you do. Anyway, I am glad to be able to visit with you.

I have had a little trouble getting over this cough etc. I caught last week but was able to keep the local grandchild for a few hours this weekend. Then, I could not go to morning services today. My body just does strange things. We had thunderstorms last night ( Our electicity went off for 3 hours ). Weather changes tend to effect my body as well. Guess I should be a weather forecast person.

Good wishes to all!

Yes, I can fully understand the uncooperative body! I have one of those, too! I was so exhausted Sat. night that I did not hear a bit of that storm! I don't think we lost power, either. At least the clock was not flashing....Feel better!

Grandchildren- a delight

I did not do much on the computer while the two grandchildren visited. Our time was precious and short. We were busy all the time and did not get to all our agenda. It was a great time with lots of happiness and memories, except for climbing the 15 foot ladder to the tree house daily (my opinion only).

We were all really tired each night and so bedtime was no problem. Briley would say her prayer and then sing to me. I would kiss her hands, as her Mommy does nightly, but had to add a kiss for every little finger. She would then clinch each hand into a fist to hold the love through the night. She is a prankster though. One night she kept telling me to kiss her thumb again. After four times I said that was enough but when she begged “Just one more time,” I was a sucker and did it. Well, that kiss put something on my lip and I said “Yuck, what is that?” She just laughed and I realized a ‘boogie’ had been on her thumb. I am a good sport but that did not happen again.

Braedon liked me to say his prayer at night and he would add what he wanted to include about the day. He said he liked me to pray because I had a sweet face. After his prayer he would want to talk about the day or ask questions about things.

They each said they were sure Mommy would let them come back with us after the birthday party on Saturday. I explained that Mommy had plans. Briley got in the van and hid behind the back seat when we started to leave. They both did ok as we left. We did too. Right now though, it does seem like weeks since I have seen them. We are blessed to have good children willing to visit this far from home and to have willing parents that allow it to happen.

I did not acclimate between TN and IN very well and so I am sick with sinus and cough right now. I got an antibiotic today and expect to be better soon.

Yes, you have to watch those boogies! :) Those kids will remember time spent with you with the greatest fondness through the years. I still value the time I got to be with my grandparents. Wish I could still give them goodnight kisses.....

The kids want to know when you're coming back. "Today?" they ask...hoping for a yes. We all think it is our turn to have you stay up here with us for a couple of weeks. Tell PaPaw we'll take good care of you, make sure you get all your baths, feed you good, and make sure you get enough naps. :)

Weekend trip -- finally

I am happy to report we have finally made a trip to IN to see the grandchildren, Valorie, and Brian (sequence does not imply order of love). It had been four months since we had seen one another. Sickness or weather seemed to hinder one family or the other each time we made plans for a trip. We were all getting pretty sad about being apart. Now, the plans are to return this weekend and bring the two older Honey B’s (that is what we call them since all their names begin with a B) back to TN for two weeks. Numerous appointments for this week prevented us from bringing them right now.

I am happy we have phones to stay in touch but there is nothing like seeing everyone in person. All three children had grown and had so much to share with us. I am glad that children are such a good natural medicine. Brian and Valorie are doing a good job with their family. I love them very much!

Have a great week,
Debby

All I can say is that I try to be as Christ-like as possible. It was people like you who instilled that into me at an early age. It seems I have more to thank you for than just the naps in your lap and the candy! :)

Everyone tells me that grandchildren are just the best! I can hardly wait to find out! However, I want my kids to take a few years and enjoy their youth if they can before starting down the serious road of parenthood! I can wait! :)
