What a fantastic weekend for Louisiana! Or should I say month? Mardi Gras is next week! As usual, we will traipse down to New Orleans and go to Endymion; this is tradition. Lindsey is coming to visit! She's the one who always organizes this shindig after all!
School is the bane of my existence, but it is nice to run into random friends around campus.
GEAUX SAINTS! What a fantastic end to the NFL season!
Upcoming movies to watch: Wolfman, Valentine's Day, Robin Hood.
What are you looking forward to?
EDIT:
For basic geological principles, check out Job 28.

Where does the apostrophe go in YALL? There are so many different ways people like to spell the word.
Talked to my advisor, and he told me I'm graduating Fall 2010 in Geology with a focus on scientific communication. YES.
I have a boyfriend. He has bright red hair. I don't like red hair, but I like him.
Please pray for me--it's a busy semester.

A six week stint in Colorado really changes a person, physically and mentally. For example, I went to the LSU Rec center today and ran a mile on the treadmill with the incline as high as it would go. My heart rate started out around one-sixty but quickly dropped to 55, where it remained the rest of the time. Frustrated, I switched the the elliptical machine. I upped the resistance throughout my workout, using the strain on my legs to gauge the amount of work it would take to carry 5 liters of water. After a mile of a heart rate around 75, I gave up. Now I'm home on pleonast wondering what to do. Any suggestions?
I'm so tan, I think I changed races.
It snows in the summer in Colorado. That's when everyone goes primitive camping. By primitive, I mean no showers and a hole in the ground for number 2.
The rocks are cool. Metamorphic pelites are the most interesting. Also found some good fossils: part of the shell of a straight chambered Nautilus that grew around 6 feet long, crinoid stems, and a sponge. One of my friends found about a dozen shark teeth. We also saw some sort of bovine footprints right beside dinosaur ones. Needless to say, all the evolutionists were a bit confused.
UFOs are real. My field partners and I saw one in New Mexico--the aliens are alive and well.
Dr. Horn, the field camp director, believes in Big Foot. There's something for Mr. Ken right there.
The Lord has blessed me with a great experience and a safe trip home.

Please pray for me. Finals are going to be difficult, and I'll need all the help I can get, especially from God who already knows everything anyway. Sometimes diligent studying isn't enough. This is one of those times.
Thanks :)
Structural Geology class is headed to Big Bend, TX, for a mandatory mapping field trip. Please pray for safety. Also, we'll be camping where there are no toilets or showers. I hate camping.
