Just an update

Please pray for me. I am having a hard time. My pain seems to try to control me all the time. However I had a massage today and it really helped. I will not be able to do it all the time because it cost so much.
I will share this. I am trying to go back to school. I already have my bachelor's degree in teaching but I would like to get a master's degree in counseling. My mom and Dad and my husband think it is silly and that I cannot do it. But I know I can. I am so tired of people telling me I cannot do things. I know myself and know I can. Any encouragement from anyone would be a great help. Love to all. Bye!

You can do it!! I went to nursing school at 38 and graduated at 41 with a 3.6!! Yes I was a magna cum laude!!! It's was the hardest yet most rewarding years of my adult life. I would have gone the nursing route when I left FC but I thought I was not smart enough, not good enough in math etc. but I found out that I was smart enought. Don't let self doubt stop you, it has stopped me too many times in my life.!! You go girlfriend!!

It's good to see you can still run a computer.

A masters would be cool. Go for it! You can do it!

I just saw your comment about sitting with Benjamin. I was going to leave Andrew or Timothy with him but he was so pleased when he heard that I was staying with him I couldn't leave him. He wanted his momma. How could I resist?

Hey everybody! I know it has been a while!

I do not get to get on the computer every day like some people I know. So it may be a while between entries. However I am still here and would love to hear from old pals from F.C. or anyone else who knows me, would like to get to know me or who has something in common with me. Such as homeschooling, sewing, quilting, weight watchers, F.C., or walking. Parenting tips I could give a few since my kiddos are almost grown. I could tell you what not to do. I would also like to talk to anyone who has adopted children. We adopted 7 children from the state of Texas. All were special needs. All had psychological problems and social problems we were not told about and thus were not prepared for. All of the kiddos were very immature for their ages and we are still waiting for some of our 17 year olds to grow up. It has been fun at times but at times it has been very frustrating. People said we were crazy for doing what we did. And now I would say they were probably correct. Not only have the kids ruined our bank account, they have ruined our house and very nearly ruined a 20 year marriage. But we are hanging on if only by a thread. Wendell, my husband, works for Pilgrims Pride and if you have watched the news lately you know that the company is in trouble. My husband had given that company nearly 30 years and he might lose his job soon. Please pray for us.

CHILDREN

Children are a precious gift from God and should be hugged and kissed every day!

SO TRUE! And you're not kidding - she LOOKS like her Daddy & she ACTS like her Daddy! She's a little spitfire. I blame it on the red hair...I'm sure you understand that. ;)

Husbands

Husbands, especially christian ones, are absolutely wonderful! They provide for us, give us children, love us, provide Bible training (mine does by answering questions for me) and many other things. What do you other ladies think? Give me your opinion.

Godly husbands are very special. I'm very blessed to have one that puts God first in his life.

walking

Diana and I have started walking at least 4-5 days a week and it is wonderful! It gives me so much energy, helps with my weight and is generally all around good for me. I think Diana feels the same. She can give her comment on this. Anyway I want to encourage all the mothers out there to get out of the house and start walking. You can take your children with you. We do. If you don't have a place around your house, go to the closest mall early in the morning. It really helps your frame of mind as well. I can be down and then go for a 15 or 30 min. walk and it is amazing how much better I feel. SO GET OUT THERE AND WALK, WALK, WALK!!!

Good for you! I just started going to the YMCA...it makes a world of difference for me!!! I say it's the only thing helping me to hang onto my sanity these days!!! It is WONDERFUL! I forgot how good it feels to exercise! You go girl!

As much as I didn't want to walk today, I'm glad we did. When I got home, supper was ready. Danny had cooked steaks, potatoes, onions out on the grill and had rolls in the oven. Yumm! Yumm!

We need to get back into running out here. Doug and I started running about a mile every day....Actually, what happened is I started being miserable after about the first 5 steps :) and we backed off to where we run the first 1/2 mile, and alternately run and walk back, at my pace :) He's such a good husband to be willing to run with me and even wait on me :) Of course...he teases me, telling me he could walk at the pace I run, lol
