No! I don't read a lot but lately the books which have come my way have DEMANDED to be passed on. THE LAST CHILD IN THE WOODS came from A local library. After I finished reading it Ibought a copy for our Mayor and each member of the city council. After waiting, fruitlessly, for a respectable period of time for those esteemed persons to comment, I have deduced that they can't read or all they can think about is raising millions of bucks to build a new city hall on the riverbank where they removed all the trees. Good grief!! The town has 8000 population.
THREE CUPS OF TEA came my way for Christmas. This morning after worship I signed up 5 people to pass it around to. The volume will then reside in the church library.
HAITI is now recieving some overdue assistance. I feel so helpless. I am guilty of sin--I have not sold all I had and given the money the poor.

At last all the holiday madness is over--all the parties, etc. Last one was Jan 11. I organized (well sorta) a lunch for 40 Emeritus Society eaters. I had no clue! Literally. Forgot to arrange parking for the group. On the WOU campus that is a MUST DO. Oh, well I am a volunteer, and elected Pres of the group when I missed the June meeting. I'll never do that again. It is probably safe to say that I will not be reelected even if I do Miss the meeting.
Among the flock of Juncos at my feeder today was a stranger. I am 90% sure that it was Melospiza melodia. I am too rusty at ID to be 100%.
The Sanitation company has replaced every 30 gallon garbage in the city with 3, count 'em, three very large bins. One for garbage, one for yard waste, and one for recycling. The darn thimngs are too big to fit into available space. But if I can manage to get "recycle" into the garage I will have an empty five-drawer filing cabinet to give away.
I just finished reading mountain climber Greg Mortenson's bigraphy, THREE CUPS OF TEA. (One man's mission to promote peace one school at a time. ) I recommend it.
Little sis has been reading LAST CHILD IN THE WOODS. That one made me cry.
King of all nations, Jesus Christ,
only joy of every heart,
come and save your people
