Courageous

I watched the movie, Courageous, today. Excellent. I love the movies these people make with a spritual message. ( I do of course wish they got the way to salvation correct) I recomend the movie along with Fireproof, and Facing the Giants if you haven't seen them.

New Year

I had a good Christmas. I got spend time with my husband's family and traveled to IL to see my family. My new nephew, Caleb, was born the day before Thanksgiving. What a cutie! I always hate leaving at the end of the visit.

I don't realy make resolutions any more because I never keep them. I fall back into my same habits very quickly. I desperately need to lose weight I don't like how I feel or look anymore. In my teens and 20's I never worried about the adverse affects on my health, and definitely never dreamed obesity lead to infertility. Now I'm 40 and facing reality. However I lack motivation to exercise, and eat horribly because I don't have a normal work schedule. I don't want to come home from work at 7 and start something complicated. Weds nights are usually fast food or pizza nights. I'm making baby steps. Trying one "health-ier" meal per day.

As for Bible reading, I am trying to read things less familiar to me. Every year I start one of those read the bible in year schedules. Needless to say, I read Genesis and Exodus every year and then slowly drop off. This year I started with Joshua. I also read a few Psalms everyday, and one chapter of Proverbs. Hopefully, that will get me reading more.

Anything new and exciting with you?

good for you! I don't know if you've ever heard of it, but I've had some success with myfitnesspal.com. It helps you track your calories- both intake and spent (exercise).

I hope you have great success!

I guess it's time for an update

It really has been a long time. I mostly use Facebook now to keep in touch. But I'm noticing some of you never left pleo, and others are coming back. I don't feel like the WHOLE world knows everything here. It's a more select group of people On Facebook, it's every body you have ever met who has a FB account.

Anyway, not much has changed this year. I had surgery in January. I recovered fairly quickly and went back to work about 4 weeks later.

In March we made a weekend trip to Nashville to see " A Prairie Home Companion" at the Ryman. Very fun trip. We visited at the Franklin church of Christ that Sunday. They were having a gospel meeting with Wilson Adams, who preached exactly what I needed to hear that day. Isn't it funny how that happens sometimes? In fact, I listened to the lesson again online after we got home.

4th of July weekend we went to IL to visit my family. A couple of weeks later I got a new (used) car. It's a 2008 Ford Fusion. I really like it.

Labor Day weekend we went to Indianapolis to see some of my husband's family. They took us to the Indianapolis Motor Speedway museum, which was really neat. The seats in those cars are so small. Make you wonder how grown men sit in them.

I am becoming an aunt again around Thanksgiving..definitely something to be thankful for.

That's the news. Wish I had something more exciting to share.

Recovering Nicely

Thanks for the prayers. Tuesday morning I went in for surgery to remove cysts from my left ovary. The doctor found a cyst on fallopian tube, so she removed the whole ovary and tube. Defintely more than I was expecting, but it could have been worse.

I'm glad to hear you're doing well. I totally understand what you're dealing with right now, as my recent surgery was extremely similar. Take it easy, and don't be afraid of taking your pain medicine... It's your friend for a while.
