I can't wait till the party this Saturday! If Jamie and I can pull this off it will be the best yet. You can bet I won't get any sleep Thursday night (since football is Friday night). I wish I had Jackie's tallent to put my costume together!
Well 2 more games and one more marching competition and the busy season is over! We sure have had a great time with High School Football and Marching Band but we all could use some much needed rest! I don't remember it being so busy when Joseph was marching. They have had marching competitions every weekend in October and one during the week! Ugh, what's up with that? I am too old for this.
This Friday the Band is hosting the Middle School Bands and it is always fun to see the young bands and remember Josh in 6th grade! It is also very nice to watch him as a freshman in High School marching with the band. I have enjoyed this first marching season and am sure I will be ready when it starts again next year.

I have discovered that I love Macadamia Nuts! I bought the Cashew/Almond/Macadamia mix and find I am picking out all the Macadamias first! Unfortunately there are more Cashews and Almonds so I have to work my way through them to get to the good stuff. Isn't that how life goes? You have so many things to work through to get to the good stuff! I hope your today is filled with good stuff!

The actual note read:
Just wanted to let you all know that we're doing fine. Sunday arrival was good but we got a storm yesterday and things have gone downhill since. We're under a flash flood warning. The stream that runs through camp rose to about 4 feet and divided the camp in half. We had to abandon our camp and all the camp is situated near the admin area and all the boys are in tight quarters. We're all ok. I don't know if everybody needs to hear all the details but what matters is that we're all ok. It's been raining and raining. We're expecting more rain tonight and for the next three days. Camp crew was awesome and took care of us. Please let everyone know we're ok and things are fine. We're a little wet and tired.
Now as a wife and mother this is how I read it:
Just wanted to let you all know that we're doing fine. (good so far) Sunday arrival was good but we got a storm yesterday and things have gone downhill since (uh oh - glad we packed their clothes in bags to keep dry). We're under a flash flood warning (isn't warning worse than watch???). The stream (small bubbling water) that runs through camp rose to about 4 feet (now raging river) and divided the camp in half (the whole camp or their own camp - is Josh on one side and Jamie on the other?). We had to abandon our camp (I can see them all running from the rising water - did they get their footlockers too or are they floating down the raging river?)and all the camp is situated near the admin area and all the boys are in tight quarters(sleeping bags lined up as far as the eye can see). We're all ok (didn't you say that already?). I don' know if everybody needs to hear all the details (don't tell the other moms we nearly lost their kids) but what matters is that we're all ok (ok now I am getting really scared). It's been raining and raining (are you high enough?). We're expecting more rain tonight and for the next three days (shouldn't you just come home?). Camp crew was awesome and took care of us (were there any swift water rescues?). Please let everyone know we're ok and things are fine (this has been stressed way to many times for me to really be comfortable with it). We're a little wet and tired (and it's only Monday).
Please keep Jamie and Josh and all the boys camping in west Texas in your prayers. I'm sure they will have stories to tell when they get home. No more updates thus far - there is only one computer and one line and no phone access so information is slow to come. Yeah for wilderness camping!!! UGH!

Well we came home tonight to find our A/C had gone out! Since it is too hot to sleep comfortably, I decided to catch up on Pleo. It is hard to believe it has been 7 months since I had a great day! HA! No, I have had some since then, but tonight is just not one of them!

Well, I figured it was time to post an update. Today was Doctor day! The day we talk about the results of all the tests and our plan for the future. Everything turned out wonderful! My tumor markers are lower than they have been in years - the tumors in my lungs are stable in comparison to the last scan and better than they were in May 2007. I am basking in the warmth of knowing God is in control and is taking care of me! I always wonder how people go through trying times without the comfort God provides. When I feel that out of control fear waiting to hear about test results, I hear Him say "be still and know that I am God..." I know whatever comes in the future for me on this earth - my home is in Heaven and I will be very glad to see it!
Don't get caught up in the whirlwind of this world - remember to just be still and feel His peace!
