We are pregnant! Sometime in the middle of April, Lord willing, there will be a new Towles added to the family. Yesterday we had our 1st ultrasound and they're pretty sure it's a boy! It was absolutely the coolest thing to see this tiny (about 3 1/2 in. tall) little boy moving and wiggling and stretching inside me and I can't feel any of it! Weird. But very cool. Quite an amazing blessing. It was also neat to see Jason's face while watching the screen, he couldn't stop grinning. I'm not really showing any yet, though I wish I could wear some of the really cute maternity clothes that I've been given. Anyone have any name ideas?

The seasons they go round and round
painted ponies go up and down
we're captive on a carousel of time
we can't return
we can only look behind from where we came
and go round and round and round in a circle game
This song that my grandpa used to sing to me in his Tennessee drawl has become much more profound to me lately. There is a kind of helplessness that I've been feeling like everything is just spinning around and I am just watching it go, grasping for the moments and missing them.
Maybe it's God's way of telling me that I'm grasping for the wrong things. That maybe I'm becoming stagnant while waiting for the time when
he and I will build our own home. I think I need to focus more on doing his work from day to day. On grasping the opportunities to help out my brothers and sisters and spread his good news to others. I guess maybe I have trouble building relationships and putting roots down when I feel that they may just be torn up soon. AUGGGHHH! I can't live halfway, I need to just live fully without regarding future pains. I think.
Sorry to burden anyone with my frustrations, but it sure feels good to try and get things figured out.

A few days ago, while driving to work, the sun was just about to wake up and peak over the horizon, but just before it did I noticed that on the horizon was an upside down rainbow! The colors of the sunrise from bottom to top were red, orange, yellow, green, blue, indigo, and violet. WOW is all I can say.
Fall is one of the most beautiful times of the year.
Things to do this fall:
*Go on a hayride
*Drink hot apple cider
*Carve a pumpkin with
him*Make a scarecrow
*Jump in a leaf pile
*Roast hot dogs over a campfire
On a seperate note:
This weekend I went to the covered bridge festival. It's a huge craft fair. Very worth seeing, if you ever get the chance. Lots of friendly people, food, ingenious creations, and GARAGE SALES all the way there!

Everyone should have the experience of teaching a really simple bible story that you've heard 1000 times to a class of 3-5 year-olds. It is a very stupefying experience.
Things I have learned:
1. Yes, there were 2 of each animal . . . but 14 of all the clean animals and birds!
2. Whoever wrote the song "Noah built the ark" got it wrong - it should say "the animals just walked in" instead of "He put the animals in".
3. Methuselah may have been the oldest man, but I wouldn't have wanted to be him . . . he died the year of the flood. I'm thinking it probably wasn't coincidence.
4. Noah got a neat 601st birthday present - dry ground! (but he didn't come out of the ark for almost 3 more months)
5. If everyone had 10 kids (1 kid every 100 years for Methuselah), by Noah's time (10 generations) there would have been 10,000,000,000 people killed in the flood.

At the request of many pleonasties, I will post.
After a very exciting summer spent in Indianapolis where
my main squeeze did his internship with Centex homes and I coached soccer, basketball, baseball, volleyball, and even golf, we are back in Casey for the time being. Jason will be done with school in December! And then, we will be off to do the Lord's work wherever we go.
We are praying that we make a wise decision in where to go. Some decisions in life are so difficult - there seems to be no right answer - you just wish you could set out a fleece like Gideon and ask God to make the decision :o)
On another note - I'm teaching a class next week on growing closer to God. The main emphesis is on prayer and study. What are the things that are most helpful or motivating for you in growing closer to our almighty father? What bible stories or verses are most edifying for you in this regard? I appreciate your imput!
