Time Flies When You're Having Fun!

Boy I sure have been having a lot of fun these past 4 months. Macy and I are doing great! I have never been around babies very much so every day is a learning process for me and for her.

I have done the full time job thing, working 40 hours a week. I can easily say that being a stay at home Mom is way harder but 10 times more rewarding and fun. Every time she looks at me and smiles I forget about the last hour that she threw the biggest fit and screamed my ear off :) She has gotten to where she doesn't just cry now she screams and cries, oh what fun..hehe. That aside she is doing a lot of stuff such as turning over from back to front, trying to talk, smiling and giggling all the time, practically sitting up on her own, watches everything and everyone...she is very attentive. She is just now starting to reach and play with things that are above her head. On the downside she has been teething for the last month and from what I hear this process can take months. At this point I am thinking that teeth are overrated, I mean who really needs them :D

We just had her pictures taken last week and we will hopefully be able to view them soon. Maybe I can get Lindsey to post some for me since I never learned how to do that :P

I am so excited about her first Christmas even though she will only be 5 1/2 months and won't really understand anything. I just look forward to her playing with her new toys that we have gotten her. Christmas time as a kid was the best and the last few years it has just been kinda blah. Now that we have her I have the Christmas spirit again :D

Her 4 month check up is next Tuesday so I will give you an update then and let you know her weight and height. I hope everyone is doing well and is enjoying the weather as much as I am.

Aww! Sounds like you are enjoying being a mom! :) Can't wait to see the pics! I'm sure she has grown so much in just 4 months. Our little one is expected about the time yours will be almost 11 months. How exciting!

During the first trimester, I did feel tired a lot of the time, but it wasn't all that bad...more just sluggish than anything. It's really started to fade though and I'm feeling pretty good now. I just hope it stays that way for a while. Oh and if you want baby updates, we have a password-protected website for all things baby since we really don't want to post a lot of personal stuff (for example, pictures) on pleo. Let me know if you want an invite to keep up on the latest. We've already had a couple ultrasounds and the pictures are on the baby website. :) Hope things are still going well with all of you!

No baby yet...

Oh my goodness, I am ready for this day to be over with. Ok so originally I was supposed to be induced at 5:30 this morning. Well, I get a call from the hospital at 4:30 saying there are no beds available that they will call me back at 7. Which of course they didn't so I called them and there still wasn't anything and they would call me if anything changes. So 9:30 rolls around and I am thirsty and hungry since I couldn't eat or drink anything after midnight and I am just wondering how long they are going to let me starve :P I was tired of waiting on them so I called them and they called my Dr. to see how much longer they could wait before just calling it quits for the day. I guess she told them to go ahead and let me eat and to just reschedule it for tomorrow morning at the same time. She also said that stars would be put by my name to ensure I got a bed first since I got put through all this mess. So during all this I have been having contractions. They began around 6:50 this morning and have continued throughout the day. We have been keeping track of how far apart they are, and they haven't been consistent yet.

Well, we just got another call from the Dr.'s office saying that they are now rescheduling it for Friday morning. Apparently Wednesday is my Dr's surgery day. I don't know how things have gotten so messed up.

Anyway, I'm still having contractions so we are thinking that I won't make it to Friday. We will see!

Thank you for all your thoughts and prayers :)
  • silvia
Maybe you don't need to be induced after all and have your sweet baby girl by tomorrow..................I'm glad to hear you are fine now, but boy, what an adventure! You are doing great.....................maybe the baby will please Linds and be a 7 8 9 baby.

We are praying and anxiously waiting for the news of your little girl's arrival.

Quick Baby Update

I just wanted to let those of you that don't know, I will be induced at 5:30 a.m. Tuesday morning if I don't have her before then. I have been in a bit of pain the last few days, so needless to say I think I'm ready to have her sooner rather then later. We were hoping for a 4th of July baby but oh well, I guess she didn't want to be :P The actual due date is tomorrow so we will see if she is one of those few that are born on the actual day. Please keep us in your prayers that everything goes ok and that she is as healthy as can be, I greatly appreciate it! I will try and get someone to update this as soon as possible after she is born to give you an update and maybe a pic or two :)

I hope you all had a wonderful 4th of July weekend!

I know your excited and nervous. We will pray for a successful birth for the baby and you! What an exciting time.

I remember the night before Carissa was supposed to be induced. We ate at BJ's Pizza. That was our last meal together by ourselves. Then we did not sleep that night, at all. Literally. I remember we were so nervous we didn't sleep. Had to be at the hospital around the same time.

Looking back, it was a great experience. We actually talk about how we look forward to doing it again.

Well I have to second everything my husband said earlier. It was the most wonderful experience, and if you're like me you won't want to even think about the possibility of having another one later on down the road, but once a few months pass and you realize how wonderful it is. You"ll forget the unenjoyable parts of having a baby and realize how much you love her and you'll want another one! Do you have a name picked out for her? I haven't heard one so I thought maybe you were keeping it a surprise. That's what we did. Anyway, I'll be thinking and praying for your family.

AHHHHH Moment!

Ok so I had my weekly Dr. appointment yesterday and I had a AHH moment :) I told the Dr. that my ultrasound last week showed that the baby still hadn't turned. So she told me to go get another one done and I asked her what happens if the baby still hadn't turned. She said she would schedule a c-section for the end of next week!! Enters my AHHHHHH moment :D I mean, I know that I don't have that much longer to go but next week!! Well, I had my ultrasound and baby has turned, so no c-section next week. I am already considered full term so there really would be no problem in having her next week, it just really took me by surprise.

It is really getting harder to sleep as she is gaining 1/2 a pound a week. I have never found it so hard to turn over in my life :P Next week is looking better and better to get her out. Oh well, it will happen when it happens (thats the part that makes me so nervous, when, where...) What have I got myself into :)

We pretty much have everything we need and have everything set up and ready for her arrival. All we have left to get is a baby monitor, any suggestions? There are so many out there, it is hard to decide which one to get. Ok, well I am going to get back to resting :D (the upside to being pregnant).

--Amy--
  • lindsey
I'm so glad we talked yesterday and I'm so, SO glad she turned! Do you want me to talk to her and tell her to hurry up? I'll kindly let her know that if buns stay in the oven too long they burn and that's just not good!

By the way, after a separate discussion last night, you and I are more and more alike every day. UH OH! Oh I had a freak out and I am still a little freaked but it will be fine, I'm certain. I'm certain!

I was not a huge fan of being pregnant, especially there at the end, but hearing you talk about it actually makes me miss it! enjoy this time even though comfort has left you all alone. It will no longer just be you and your hubby. That was one thing that scared me when I was at the end of my pregnancy. But obviously i'd have it no other way than it is right now. praying for a safe delivery, and awesome news about her turning! no c section is the way to go!

....it's funny...............after we used ours (one with two receptors), and we loved it, we grew to 'hate' it.............then I would have it for so long I could hear their conversations.........and at one time I could turn it off and still hear their cry (specially princess #1, the toughest of my two babies)
