So my helpful husband was assisting me in hanging the snowflakes from the ceiling in front of the fireplace and had the ladder out. Cinnamon (the cat) clambored to the top of the ladder and draped himself over it and looked all cute for a while. That was amusing. But then he realized he was very close to the mantle and with just a little jump he could make it! So he did. Unfortunately there was no room for him there as it was loaded with the glass stocking holders. Thaxter's is this beautiful frosted and clear stag. As Cinnamon jumped the stag slipped...and my hero husband flew across the room in time to catch it in mid air! It was saved ... and so was the cat.

The cat's in my lap
And purring so sweet
It's a marvelous feeling
He's back on his feet!

There once was a cat named Cinnamon
Who followed the dog like a gentleman
His tail was puffy, yes fluffy
Just like his friend dogs was furry
They held their tails the same
It was their claim to fame
So they played and fought
And slept and … naught
Until one day they were interrupted
By an illness the cat succumbed to
So the cat’s at the vets
With the other sick pets
And the dog whines and looks
For the cat that sat on books.
And we don’t know what they’ll come to.

If you know me well, then you know a favorite movie of mine is "While you were sleeping." Lines from the movie are appropriate in conversation on many occasions. My admonition for this post is to mimic Paul when he says in Philippians 4:11 "for I have learned in whatever state I am, to be content."
