Everyones' guide to the bible

Thanks again to all of you for your support. We were so excited to get an email from Rick Lanning a few weeks ago and to learn that he is not only using the bible program to teach people the gospel in the US and China but also is using it as a teaching tool to teach others how to teach people. It is so hardwarming to here these reports.

In other news, Tim and I are now living in Richmond Texas and trying to get use to the heat and humidity. Tim had emergency knee surgery two weeks ago and is still hobbling around on crutches. We had a brief time in Tampa to see our new baby in the family, Roxana and Roy's daughter (Tim's brother) and see Sheena, Mom and Dad and Tim's grandmother El Marie.

Pleonast has been amazing with me overseas. Thanks to all of you for your encouragment over the last 4 years. Have a good one. If you really want to get in touch with me, send me an email. I'm not on pleonast much right now.

Cheers!
Ann

Where is Richmond? Judging from the date of this post, you're not writing frequently, so I hope you see this. Wondering if someday I would meet you, since we're in the same state (albeit a HUGE one!).

Everyones' guide to the bible

I received this note from a friend in Indonesia. We kept Linley's daughter Marissa during her Sr. year of high school . If you have not seen the program, you can go to www.ChristianFriendsSoftware.com. We are working on an Apple iphone apt. The program was written by Troxel Ballou, father of Kennon who is the creater of Pleonast and my husband Tim. We used materials from Bob and Sandra Waldren and Mark Copeland. The pictures are all done by an artist and can be copied for bible classes and powerpoint etc. Any questions, please ask! Have a blessed week.

Tim and Ann,

I just wanted to share with you about your Everybody's Guide to the Bible that you gave to me so long ago.

I have given it to a woman, Setiawati in Indonesia my copy. She is SO busy studying it and sharing it!
It is so amazing and such a witness of His great love for His children!
Setiawati was Muslim just 4 yrs ago.... now she is one of the most active Christian women I know....
and ON FIRE TO SHARE THE LOVE OF CHRIST WITH EVERYONE!

Just wanted you to know!! Such a tool is inaccessible for most Indonesians.....but it is changing lives!

Cheers! Linley

Another note from Linley: Setiawati is just loving the Bible program..... she is deeply studying the Bible now in order to teach others.... she
is quite a witness..... in that Muslim country!! Though it is dangerous.... keep her in prayer. Its a wonderful tool
for teaching English....... although she is fluent.

That's heartwarming. It's nice to hear about how Christ touches lives in the most dangerous of places.

So where have I been you wonder, or maybe not :)

Note: Thanks for all the prayers and comments. This is the second time I have broke my ankle while living in Scotland. The first time was small, this one major. The doctor was good as he was trying not to put in a plate as it would have been a major incession. For me being on bloodthinner is a lifesaving drug since I have already had a stroke due to the clotting. He also didn't want to chance a bloodclot. If blood clotts too fast it can cause the blood not to be able to make it through the heart. We are thankful he agreed to the surgery as is. He said he would rather mess with the blood. Tim had to go to Amsterdam Wednesday and a friend came and stayed with me. Next week, he will be gone so some of the ladies from church will be dropping in to help me downstairs, up at night and food. I don't know how people make it without Christian friends. Thanks again to all of you.

Sheena and Jared flew into London the morning of December 20 and Tim and I flew in after services Sunday morning. We were scheduled to take the Eurostar to Germany to the Christmas markets but the snow was too fluffy and 6 trains were broke down. So what do you do when straded in London for 3 days? Well, quite a lot actually. Plays, shopped, Tower of London etc. We had Tim Christmas lunch at Harrods. Thursday we headed home. The 25th was not only Christmas but Jared's 22nd birthday. Much snow! Yes, we had a white Christmas. The morning of the 26th, I bubbled down the stairs only to fall down, break my ankle in 2 places, dislocated, ambulance, 6 days in hospital, home for 5 days and then back for surgery and two more days in the Ward. I came out with screws in my ankle and a clamp. He was trying to not have to put in a plate as with my clotting dissorder he was fearful of taking me off of bloodthinners. I now know what it is like to be in a ward. No, I didn't like it! I know what NHS (national health care) is like first hand. Stitches are out, new cast. 4 more weeks of no weight on my ankle and then it comes off. 3 weeks of PT and then we should move back to Houston around March 15th. Hope you all are having a good new year. Cheers!!

I can sympathize and empathize with you my friend. I have been through the exact same thing. (minus the NHS) I fell the day after we moved to our new home here 12 years ago. 3 breaks, surgery, screws, stitches. My heart goes out to you.

I am thinking I remember a similar accident for you once before...maybe just a bad sprain? I, too, broke my ankle (20+ yrs ago) on both sides of my right foot and one of the bones at the base of my leg. I had lots of screws and a plate with a week's stay in the hospital, different casts as swelling recedede and PT aftterwards. Sounds like not much has changed in the last 20 yrs in this recovery! You'll get through it all, but it takes at least 2 yrs for the leg/ankle to feel nearly 100% recovered strength-wise. I feel your pain. I had 2, 4, and 6 yr. old kids at the time, so I had to get hoppin quickly! I know you are looking forward with mixed emotions to your move back here.

Hmmm...volume didn't give me any audio with it. I'll have to try at home on a better computer/internet system.

Moving back to Houston

UPDATE: March seems to be the month.

Tim and I will be moving back to Houston sometime early next year. The exact date is not know. He will be working in a Global Shell assighment and will be traveling between Houston and Amsterdam. More to follow when I know the detail. Have a good weekend.

Yes, I should be able to travel some with him.
  • iloveponds

Can't wait for your return. It will be fun traveling with him. He will rack up frequent flier miles and you can go for close to free. We still may get to meet in Amsterdam some time. When Gerald has a trip I'll see if Tim has a trip scheduled. Is Amsterdam/ The Hague the only place he will be traveling?
