Of summer break! I made it through AP exams, finals, and craziness! Glad to be done with my last "normal" year at the high school. As a senior, I will only go half-days, AND I get to graduate at semester! Taking extra classes past summers definitely paid off.
Well, I just love summer! The other day we went cherry and blueberry picking at an orchard near us! I found out that I like mullberries..who knew? :)
I learned how to play this really fun card game called Mao. It's basically like uno, except you can't discuss any of the rules! A couple of the cards have special rules that you have to figure out, and once you get to zero cards, you say "mao" and then get to make your own rule--except you can't tell anyone what it is, and when your it applies and someone doesn't do it, you give them a card. For example my friend made one when you put down a red card you had to compliment his beef brisket. Ha, I heard "Adam, I like your brisket" about 1000 times. :) It sounds crazy and it was! Has anybody played this game before?
I've been praying recently about getting a job, before FC and all, and I thought my prayers were answered when I got one teaching tennis, but then I was offered two more today, one that I didn't even apply for! Wow, the Lord gives in abundance. Way beyond what I hoped for!
Have a blessed day!

Well after forgetting my password for 2+ years..
I just wanted to say that I always liked pleonast! It was so cool to connect with camp friends the whole year! It would be cool if my siblings were able to do this also..but nobody really gets on anymore. :'( This site brings back good memories! :)
oh, it's 41 days until camp and I am extremely excited. Me and a lot of other MO camp kids are going to Arkansas camp this year, so I'll be able to go to 2 camps! I am so blessed!
Well, that's about it!
love, ofvalyn

That's awesome that you're planning on coming to FC!! That happens to be the same year as when I'm gonna be going! FC is a very good choice, and I know you'll enjoy it. That's exciting. I really like getting to know the people that are going to be going the same year as myself, and perhaps becoming close friends before actually getting there.
We treat it like it was the actual day, pretty much. My family is very relaxed when it comes to birthdays. We acknowledge that it's not the end of the world if we don't get it on the actual day, but as soon as we do that, it just ends up taking forever for us to get around to it. Haha, we've even had seven family member's birthdays on the same day at one point ('cause it was most convenient). Most of the member's birthdays were more than a month previously. That's our largest group birthday party we've had so far, I doubt we'll get a higher number than that.
I mainly enjoy listening to movie soundtracks for music, in general, but music I play varies pretty widely. I don't play any pop stuff though, I'm not a huge fan of pop. I play video game music, classic music, and movie soundtracks transposed to piano. This is pretty much my favorite piano song in the world though:
I haven't "written" many songs; I've got little tunes that I play, but I wouldn't really call them songs, they are more like jingles or something; no real structure.
I'm Homeschooled, so I don't exactly have a strict school schedule. I plan on doing school through the whole year, that way any days I miss unintentionally don't count against me too horribly.
As for Mao, that sounds like a lot of fun, but I've never played it.
We have a ton of mulberry trees up at my family's country house in Indiana.
Hey, Tigger was my favorite at one point too! I only say "at one point" because it's been forever since I went back and read the books; in other words, I'd have to go make sure. The part about him being self-absorbed was only an observation about the deeper meaning of the books (deeper meanings are awesome).
