Hey-

I'm not sure what happened behind the scenes, but contrary to my last post, I got my laptop today!! I am VERY GLAD!!!

Also we have 4 inches of the lovely white substance called snow, and it is still snowing!!!

Happily,
Ethan

Hi, A while back I posted about a church in the Watertown/Fort Drum area in the "Where to Assemble" group. I believe you replied and I was wondering if you still attend in Theresa and/or know any information about the church there. My husband and I are moving there at the end of April and are planning to visit in a few weeks. We are wanting to visit all the churches in that area so if you know of any, please let me know. My email is: sophiamonique2@hotmail.com
    Thank you so much,

Ordering Laptops over the Internet can be a big hassle!

Hey-

I bought a Compaq Presario Laptop and a 1 year warranty on the internet from Curcuit City on Black Friday. It was supposed to be here sometime this week. It hasn't come. So I "tracked" my order and it said they had shipped the warranty and not the laptop. So I called Customer Service and the man said, "The reason the laptop was not shipped is that it is out of stock, and we won't be getting any more in until the 14th, at which time we will ship it to you." So it should come anytime between the 17th and the 24th.

Anyway.. how are all of you?

'Til next time,
Ethan
  • disastermaster
So, you have the warranty for one year from the date you paid for it, but will not get your computer until later. Hmmm.
    by disastermaster at 12/03/09 11:35AM
  • weekendsongservice

^^^ The 1 year warranty actually kicks in after the manufacturer's(sp?) 3 month warranty wears off.

Hi

Hey-

Our family just got sattelite internet, it is great!!! Other than that, not much to report...

I think that people are putting up Christmas decorations waaaaay too early!!!

Ethan
  • homeschoolmomma23
I am with you on that. Wayy tooooo early!!
    by homeschoolmomma23 at 11/19/09 9:32AM
  • sallyanne
I put them up after Thanksgiving, but I admit I enjoy them early ;)

I laughed that you guys had dial up for so long...I am sure you'll enjoy the faster access!
    by sallyanne at 11/19/09 11:15AM
  • noby_wan
Come on! Who cares if the weather is cold? If you really want decorations, you should be willing to face the cold to put them up. Or you could not put them up at all. Either way, obey the unwritten law that you cannot put them up before Thanksgiving. That goes for all the songs too. Okay, I'm done. I'll get off my soapbox. Btw, I'm not really serious. :)
    by noby_wan at 11/19/09 11:48AM
  • laura_ashley
I dont mind either of them.. But contacts somewhat get on my nerves. But thats just me.. I'm trying to see how these new ones turn out, if they dont work I'm getting glasses!!

We had high speed internet then moved to an area that only had dial up. Uugh! For way too many years all we could get was dial up. Then we finally had high speed again. Whew! So nice to have high speed. Congratulations on your sattelite internet.

  • sirtarin
We put up the Christmas lights on the edge of the roof and the cedar tree back in mid October... But then, we'd already had snow before that and wanted to get them up while it was still nice (It got in the 70's that day and was sunny.), so we didn't have to be on the roof in the cold and snow (Really, I wouldn't even dare to get on the roof when it's snowy. I'm not suicidal. :P). We put probably another third of them up Saturday, and I'm thinking I'll do some more today.

We don't however, start lighting them (Other than testing.) until some time after Thanksgiving.

YOU'LL BE SURPRISED AT THE END OR MAYBE NOT!

Who Am I?

Who Am I? I was born in one country, raised in another. My father
was born in yet another country. I was not his only child. He
fathered several =2 0 children with numerous women.

I became very close to my mother, as my father showed no interest
in me. My mother died at an early age from cancer.

Later in life, questions arose over my real name.

My birth records were sketchy and no one was able to produce a
legitimate, reliable birth certificate.

I grew up practicing one faith but converted to Christianity, as it
was widely accepted in my country, but I practiced non-traditional
beliefs & didn't follow Christianity, except in the public eye
under scrutiny.

I worked and lived among lower-class people as a young adult,
disguising myself as someone who really cared about them.

That was before I decided it was time to get serious about my life
and I embarked on a new career.

I wrote a book about my struggles growing up. It was clear to those
who read my memoirs that I had difficulties accepting that my
father abandoned me as a child.

I became active in local politics in my 30's then with help behind
the scenes, I literally burst onto the scene as a candidate for
national office in my 40s. They said I had a golden tongue and
could talk anyone into anything.

I had a virtually non-existent resume, little work history, and no
experience in leading a single organization. Yet I was a powerful
speaker and citizens were drawn to me as though I were a magnet and
they were small roofing tacks.

I drew incredibly large crowds during my public appearances. This
bolstered my ego.

At first, my political campaign focused on my country's foreign
policy...... I was very critical of my country in the last war and
seized every opportunity to bash my country..

But what launched my rise to national prominence were my views on
the country's economy. I pretended to have a really good plan on
how we could do better and every poor person would be fed &a mp; housed
for free.

I knew which group was responsible for getting us into this mess.
It was the free market, banks & corporations. I decided to start
making citizens hate them and if they were envious of others who
did well, the plan was clinched tight.

I called mine "A People's Campaign" and that sounded good to all
people.

I was the surprise candidate because I emerged from outside the
traditional path of politics & was able to gain widespread popular
support.

I knew that, if I merely offered the people 'hope' , together we
could change our country and the world.

So, I started to make my speeches sound like they were on behalf of
the downtrodden, poor, ignorant to include "persecuted minorities".
My true views were not widely known & I kept them unknown, until
after I became my nation's leader.

I had to carefully guard reality, as anybody could have easily
found ou t what I really believed, if they had simply read my
writings and examined those people I associated with.

I'm glad they didn't. Then I became the most powerful man in the
world. And the world learned the truth.

Who am I?

ADOLF HITLER

Who were you thinking of? Scary isn't it?

    I guessed.=)
There are similarities between Obama and Hitler, just as there are between any man abandoned as a child by his father. But many of them are superficial and/or outside their control (they can't help where, when, and to whom they were born). And every politician that I know of 'knows who got us into this mess,' and has a thinly veiled platform of demonizing us vs them. So I would be careful about overstating a correlation- never use your weakest argument is good debate advice I heard somewhere.

It is true that NAZI stood for National SOCIALIST party and this President is also a socialist.
