Patience is Pursuing Me!

1 Tim 6:11 "But you, O man of God, flee these things and pursue righteousness, godliness, faith, love, PATIENCE, gentleness."

Right now I feel like the Lord is helping me out with the Patience part of this verse. I don't have to pursue patience because it's pursuing me whether I like it or not!! ;) Have you ever had something in your life for which you are waiting so impatiently but there is nothing you can do but wait? That is how I feel right now, but I guess if I had a grasp on patience, the wait wouldn't be so hard. I should be thankful though. It's like when you pray for the Lord to increase your perserverence- something has to happen that will cause you to perservere so that it can be strengthened. Hopefully, I'm gonna come out with the patience of an old work mule!

"For [God's] is the kingdom, the power, and the glory forever!"

Have a great week!

My presence can lull anyone to sleep. Ha I know you guys woke up early for the half marathon so no biggie. I had a blast last weekend. I enjoyed getting to know your boyfriend and brother....I could easily hang out with those guys and have a blast. Well...now that I think about it, your boyfriend wouldn't hang out with me after I finally destroyed him in a seed eating contest. I should've demanded a seed off.

I'm better at insulting than I thought! To be platonically honest your tan picture up above doesn't do your pasty whiteness in person any justice. That was a compliment wrapped in an insult I guess. The BJ family must just be stocked full of beautiful people. There! That was a solo compliment with no contextual insults. To be serious for one second I honestly loved hanging out with your fam...they remind me alot of my own. Minus the couple cuddling and kissy smootchies, nap love time, and honey this honey that. :)

The Glory Days

I feel like Laura with so many things that I could say, but as my momma always taught me- I don't have to share everything that is on my mind, so I guess I won't. However, I would like to mention the old glory days kind of day I have had.
Back in high school, I always considered myself a pretty good athlete. I had played softball for ten years until I switched to soccer in high school, where I started every year, and I also played volleyball for four years. The basketball coach begged me to play because of my athletic ability, but after summer practices, summer camp, and a shiner on my eye, I decided that it really wasn't my sport and moved. I was usually the quickest, and what ball handling skills I might have lacked in, I usually made up for it by outrunning the opponents. BUT, that was high school.
I graduated, came to college, and found myself lacking in confidence in what used to be my pride (not in a stuck up kind of way)- especially this semester since I have been taking a co-rec (guys and girls) soccer and volleyball class. Ok, so I might still be one of the quickest girls, but every day, those boys eat me for lunch!! In soccer, the guys have killer soccer moves capable of breezing by my defensive plays, and I won't even mention the pitiful attempts at offense (it's like kicking at a brick wall). One guy in particular, I think single-handedly killed chivalry. He stomps on girls like little bugs and does not hesitate to through an elbow if one gets in the way. In volleyball, the guys hit the ball so hard at you that you barely have time to even see it, much less react, before it goes whizzing by your face.
BUT today- today, that confidence returned- that's right no more Ms. Nice, Mousey Emily! In soccer Mr. Chilvary was on the other team and came up against me with the ball. He faked one way, changed directions, switched the ball from foot to foot, threw an elbow, and then I STOLE the ball away from him. That's right, I did it. Next, another guy receives a pass close to our goal and dribbles past me, but I won't give up!! I put my running cleats in high gear and take off after him. Right as his foot goes back to shoot, my foot dives for the ball. I kick it just before he does and flip backwards. My fellow defender then steals the ball and clears it away! "Now that's defense," the guy who was about to shoot says! To top my soccer game off, our instructer sends me to offense and I make an assist for a goal!!!
Next is volleyball. We're playing four v. four tournaments, which is tougher than six v. six, but it's a lot of fun. Today, we went up against just about the only team that could beat team HOOAH (that's our team name, which is pronounced hooo- ahhh and is said while taking the muscle flex stance). We were up against the hardest hitter in the class, who incidentally was on the intramurals champion volleyball team. Once again, I was in the zone, and after a gruelly three game battle, we came out victorious!!! What a fun day it was- it was even better than the glory days!

As Papa used to say... "PLEASE! Don't hit me no more!"

Ok, here is an update on my boyfriend's and mine relationship. It has turned slightly abusive. Here's the story:

Last night after Bible class, Andrew and I went to Moe's with some other people. While we were enjoying our scrumptuous Moo Moo Mr. Cows and Joey Bag of Doughnuts, we were also watching the Braves game- woohoo!!!! Anyway, Andruw Jones hits a homerun, and Andrew goes up for a high five. As a loving girlfriend, I go to return the hand, and he hits mine so hard that it bounces back and hits me in my face. Shocked, I grab my face and begin shaking with laughter, which appears to be a cry. The girls standing at the register, who have only heard the loud clap, turn in astonishment to see me holding my face and Andrew patting my back and apologizing profusely. HAHAHAHAHAHA!!!

I hope that you all are doing great!! The Lord is so GOOD!

I've Been Tagged

The Rules: Each player of this game starts with the "6 odd or weird things/habits about you". People who get tagged need to write a blog of their own 6 things, and state this rule clearly. At the end, choose 6 people that you're tagging and list their names. Leave them each a comment telling them that they've been tagged! Have fun trying to think weird things up:)

1. As Andrew informed me the other day, I am the only person that I know of that actually says the words that everyone else writes- for instance "Haha" or "Oaf!" (used when in a difficult and uncomfortable position such as when shooting a basketball while falling).

2. When using the bathroom at work in the library, I choose a stall that morning- usually the third or fourth stall down, and ONLY use THAT stall for the rest of the day. If by chance, the stall is occupied, however, or has just been vacated the next time I walk in, with much disdain for the occupant, I will choose another stall. You may think it strange that I will not use my designated stall if it has just been vacated, but I do not like having the water still filling up in the bowl when I walk in- this bothers me tremendously. AND, while on the subject of bathroom etiquette, NEVER go into the stall next to someone who was in there first- NEVER.

3. My parents call me their autistic child because I do not like loud noises. In severe situations, I begin to rock back and forth and cover my ears (this is somewhat just a show for my dislike of the loud noises and isn't really a compulsive thing). Sometimes I wear headphones at work without playing any music to block out the background noise. I work in a LIBRARY where not much noise is made in the first place).

4. Some of my favorite things to do are "boy" activities like fishing, shooting skeet, and climbing trees, but at the same time, I love to be girly! My Nanny used to call me the girliest tom boy she had ever met.

5. I dream elaborate and very real dreams almost every night. I often wake up feeling like the events in my dreams really happened. Sometimes I am even mad at the people for what they did in my dreams (I was once mad at Andrew for holding another girl's hand in my dream). Here's where it gets really weird- sometimes my dreams suggest what will happen in the future. I once dreamed that my mom and I were admiring Cany Long's long hair. When I saw her the next Sunday, her hair had been chopped of- coincidence or supernatural- please call 1-800-GULLIBLE for your future ;)

6. Eating apples triggers my gag reflex and makes me want to vomit EVERY time I eat them. I really HATE apples.

I tag:

I'm with you on the bathroom stuff! Except if it's a bathroom I go into frequently, I have one I pick every time and not just for the day. :)

If you've already been in a stall, you may as well use it the rest of the day because you've already been exposed to THOSE germs. Why expose yourself to an entire stall's worth extra, right? That's my logic, anyway, and #11 on my list (BJ).
