Project help ....

I've never really been into scrapbooking, but I am working on a project & have been wondering if digital scrapbooking might be useful. I don't want to put a lot of money into it either. If you have any website suggestions, advice, ect ... I'd love to hear it!

Thanks a bunch:)

I am not a scrapbooker either. I don't have the time to do it, but I like to have my pictures in a book and not just on the computer. I used apple's program, iphoto, to make our "scrapbooks". It was easy to do and cheaper than scrapbooking (as long as you didn't make too many pages!). I do a book for each years of the girls life and big family vacations. I have heard that other photo sites online also make good books like that as well.

I've used mypublisher--very easy to use and the software is free. Look for buy-one-get-one free deals before you order your book.

^I agree. Mel has used mypublisher for lots of her books (and made a couple for me!) and they are great! I have tried snapfish and photo sites like that, but there are only certain layout options, whereas mypublisher lets you decide how many pics you want on the page and if you want them horizontal or vertical, etc.

I love scrapbooking! I'm haven't looked into any of the programs mentioned above but a good friend suggested Foto Fusion and I LOVE it. I did a book of Indi's first year and printed it using Shutterfly and Indi loves paging through it. It's about $50 for the basic program though, but it was well worth it and I will use it for both girls over the next few years. It has background paper, cute "stickers", various fonts, you can turn font any direction, cute frames, organizes your photos into folders and then it's click and drag, etc. It's really like doing it by hand, but awesome because if I have 5 minutes I can work on it and then push the save button!

I've been wanting to try the photobooks I've seen at If you sign up with Walgreens, they send you great deals on photos and photo gifts. In fact, I'll forward the latest email I got to you. It looks easy. You just choose a theme and your pictures and they print the book. I think I may do that for grandmothers sometime. I enjoy scrapbooking but it gets overwhelming to me. Have fun! Happy Birthday to Maya!

I know she has Call Me Irresponsible, Crazy Love, and the self-titled CDs. I don't think she has the It's Time one. Fyi, I recently taught her to download songs on Amazon onto her new MP3 player so an Amazon gift card might work too. Just a thought. :)

My baby likes ....

Jackson 5 :) Our house is full of fun these days. Maya keeps us very entertained & busy. She is in the 'pre-walking' stage. Just taking a few steps here & there. Not sure I'm ready for her to be walking soon, but ready or not it will happen!

I'm really excited to be starting a short class in the coming weeks. A few other moms & I will be going through the book titled, 'At Mother's Knee'. It is a workbook of sorts with info & ideas about doing regular Bible lessons with your children. Should be very encouraging.

We studied more from Isaiah yesterday & I wanted to share a few of my favorite verses.

'Have you not known? Have you not heard? The LORD is the everlasting God, the Creator of the ends of the earth. He does not faint or grow weary; his understanding is unsearchable. He gives power to the faint, and to him who has no might he increases strength. Even youths shall faint and be weary, and young men shall fall exhausted; but they who wait for the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles; they shall run and not be weary; they shall walk and not faint.' Isaiah 40:28-31

  • beckylboyer
I'm interested in that book too. I could use some suggestions in that regard. Maya is growing so fast!

  • kendralulu
I need to come to that class. What a great idea! I always think of my Dad when I hear that verse; he loved eagles. I bought him a box with that verse on top; it's now on my night stand.

I enjoyed talking with you the other day. Hope things go well with your class. We are starting the book "Plugged In: High Voltage Prayer" by Edwin Crozier. I was reading over the material for class and the first chapter yesterday, I'm really excited, this is going to a very useful and helpful study for me, I know my prayer life isn't as good as it needs to be, so I'm excited in growing in this area. Love you sis, kiss Maya for me.

Can't wait to see you two :) I need to pick some tomatoes out of Josh's garden ... I'd be glad to bring you some if you like them.

Prophets ...

I am really enjoying our Bible classes surveying the OT. We are spending some time on the books of the prophets. WOW! There is a lot that I miss while reading or don't really understand, but WOW! Tomorrow we will be discussing Micah & I wanted to share some verses that really struck me ...
'Who is a God like you, pardoning iniquity and passing over transgression for the remnant of his inheritance? He does not retain his anger forever because he delights in steadfast love. He willagain have compassion on us he will tread our iniquities underfoot. You will cast all our sinis into the depths of the sea. You will show faithfulness to Jacob and steafast love to Abraham, as you have sworn to our fathers from the days of old." Micah 7:18-20

What an awesome God we serve!

One of my favorite passages in the whole Bible is in Micah... ch. 6:6-8. Amen to your last statement!

Thinking ...

sometimes I don't do it enough & other times I fear I do WAY too much of it. Anyone else ever feel that way?

Our trip to Missiouri was wonderful & exhausting all rolled into one. It was fantastic to spend some time with the Boyers. I enjoyed seeing our college friends as parents and it did me much good to stay up late talking with such a sweet friend. Sorry for keeping you up late, Becky =]

The St. Louis portion of our trip was great. The gospel meeting was very encouraging & we enjoyed seeing so many brethren who are very dear to us. My regret is that I did not get to visit one-on-one with more people, but alas I'm pretty air-headed in crowds & the time did not allow for proper visits =[

I'm busy planning for our Cinco de Mayo Fiesta on Tuesday night. This year I'm going to try some new, authentic Mexcian dishes. Should be tasty & fun!

So, I was a completely terrible guesser this year for March Madness. The very first day of the first round was my shining moment. Things most certainly went down hill from there... Oh well, it is still a fun family tradition!

Things with us have been wonderful. Maya is a crawling machine these days & keeps us thoroughly entertained. We are getting VERY excited for our upcoming trip to Kansas City & St. Louis! Lots to do before then, but it always gets done.

Our Sunday morning & Wednesday evening bible classes are covering the Divided Kingdom right now. I have truly enjoyed reading through these Old Testament books again. I'm overwhelmed by the courage & faithfulness of Elijah and Elisha. I keep asking myself how I would measure up ... kind of depressing to know how far away I am ... at the same time motivating for me. What are you studying?

Of course, I'll leave you with a few pictures ... just because =]

She is so precious! And I absolutely love her bumper! We just started studying the Sermon on the Mount. So far, it's been incredibly interesting. We just finished a study on how to study, how to pray, and how to get to heaven. With the exception of Von Williams' Proverbs class I had in high school, it was one of the most beneficial studies I've experienced. I can't wait to see you all next week!! :)
