A happy entry!! =)

This one is about Joshua! I realized that I didn't do an update on him after his birthday! So, ihere is something. At his 1 year appointmet he weighed 26 lbs and 13 1/2 oz (90th-95th percentile) and was 32" long (95th-98th percentile)! Yes, you read that correctly...he's a BIG boy. :0) He is healthy and growing just fine. He's been walking holding onto furniture and toys for quite sometime now, and occasionally he will let go and take a few steps. WELL, tonight he decided to let go and take off! For about a 1/2 hour, all he did was walk around the living room and the kitchen...he was LOVING it!!! I can't believe he is that grown up! He's a funny boy though...he still loves babyfood and really doesn't care about tablefood. He does enjoy puffs, yogurt melts, cherrios, gold fish, yogurt, a little bit of bread, and now cheese. He's had a couple pieces of pear, black beans, peas and green beans...he's getting there. We're not rushing him, we know when he is ready he will let us know...in the mean time we just keep offering various foods. :) We love him more then we could have ever imagined...and can't remember life without him! It is so fun to watch him grow and discover new things each day...when something clicks with him, the sweet smile that comes across his little face is just priceless! We LOVE you Joshua!!! =)

My m knows one to the tune of 10 little Indians: love, joy, peace, and patience; kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness; self-control, against such there is no law; these are the fruits if the spirit.

    Hope that helps!

Today's updates on Rebecca:

9 hours ago: Bleeding the problem now. Going to do Broncial Artery Embolozation, not sure if I spelled it right. They will go in and cut the arteries that are bleeding. 90% effective. Trying to get it scheduled soon, not emergency, so will have to wait. Pray it doesn't become emergency, and pray this works. Other alternatives not as easy as this.

6 hours ago: Going down to OR for Bronchial Artery Embolization. Procedure will take about 2 hours. It's effective in 90% of patients to stop bleeding. They locate the bleeding and embolize(clot) the arteries that are bleeding. Please pray this works.

4 hours ago: Procedure went well, she tolerated it and is stable. Hope this works. We will be able to tell in a little while. Will update when I know more.

Today's updates:

Update on Rebecca (5 hours ago): Please pray everyone, Rebecca back in icu. may be bleeding in her lungs. Had to incubate her, all happened while I was in her room. Started feeling funny, hyperventilating, and bleeding from mouth. Called code, got her stable and mover her to ICU. PRAY PRAY PLEASE.

Update on Rebecca (3 hour ago): Bleeding in lungs caused by blood thinners for clots. Giving her medication to reverse the bleeding. Taking her to surgery now to put a filter in right leg to prevent clots from moving. Can't do on one above heart without Bypass, and can't do that because of bleeding. Consulting Cardio Intervention.

Update on Rebecca (1 hour ago): Surgery went well. Filter in place. Still having small amount bleeding in lungs. Medication for that been given. Stable. Don't know what will happen next. I don't know what else to say at this point except please pray for Rebecca.

Over the weekend she was moved out of ICU to a regular room, but as you read, things changed today and she is back in ICU. We really don't know what to ask for other then prayers right now. Thanks

Updates on Rebecca:

They got her up and she sat in a chair for 3 hours, propped up of course, but she sat up!! Respiratory rate still in 40's but her medical team gave the okay for eye surgery this pm. Will have ventilator for that, but take it out in a couple of hours. Pray this saves her eye! 7 hours ago

(1 hour ago): Procedure went well, took off vent 2 hrs later. Even though they gave her enough drugs to put down a horse, she was still awake for it! In 8 hrs they will take off bandage, but won't know anything for several days. Also came in to restitch chest tube right after eye procedure. At least she still had some sedation in her for that.

Last updates for the night...

MRSA in right eye, bleeding behind eye also. Can't remember what all doc said, but wanted to do procedure to use needle to inject antibiotics directly into space near retina. Her team of specialists wouldn't allow it to be done until she's more stable. Having problem with high respiration and pulse. Please keepp praying. I let my guard down too quickly.

She did eat some jello and drank a little sprite. Her nurse let me help her wash her hair, and she handled that pretty well. She had to hang her head off the back of the bed in a pan, so I know it was uncomfortable. Right after that she jus...t got really confused and started to breathe fast, gave her sedative didn't do much good. She might just be exhausted because people are in and out of the room all day doing something to her. When she comes of it, they will meet the real Rebecca!! She did "swat "at the PT nurse who tried to sit her up on the side of the bed. It was a pretty feeble swat, but I expect them to get better as she does!

Temp back up to 101.6. First temp in 24 hrs. Sending more cultures to lab to make sure not missing something. She's very uncomfortable and confused. Things changed so quickly. Please continue to pray.

Doing multiple cultures to make sure nothing missed. Temp still high, and she not responding when we talk to her May have to put her back on the ventilator because she is so weak. Please pray for strength for her to come out of this, and pray docs find out what's wrong. Mike (her Dad) taking David Michael (her son) to doc with temp of 102.6. Pray for Mom and son both!!

She still needs your prayers, please.
