Introduction to Christian Evidences

http://eimaichristianos.wordpress.com/

In I Peter 3:15, Peter says that all Christians need to be ready to make a “defense” for the reason of their hope in Christ. The word given in the Greek text for this is “απολογιαν” or “apologian”. Just looking at that word, you can tell what English word is closely associated with it, “apology”.

What do you do when you apologize for something? You give a reason for why you did what you did right? In other words, you give an account for why you made the decision that you made.

Likewise, Peter says that Christians (who of course claim to believe in Jesus), must be able to give a reason for why they believe what they do. Why?

The fact is that many confuse faith with the act of believing something without any good reason for why.

Many will give reasons for why they believe in Jesus. Many sound good, but are misguided. Many will tell me that they believe in Jesus because their parents are Christians. While the example set by a parent is vital to the faith of their child, it is not a good foundation for belief in Christ.

Many will say that they believe in Christ because their preacher told them to. Preachers play a vital role in the spread of the Gospel for sure. However, faith in Christ that is based on your preacher’s faith is not your own.

Say you are a detective. Say you go to the scene of the crime and both opposing sides of the case are giving you two different answers. How do you decide which one is correct? A good detective searches for evidence. He does not just randomly select the guilty party. He finds a reasonable bit of evidence to base his judgment in.

Faith in Christ is very similar. You can’t just believe in Him based on someone else’s faith or request. In order to have truly Biblical faith, you have to use your brain. You have reason. You have to do some consideration of the facts and evidence presented. You have to dig for answers. Only then will you find true faith.

I could tell you about Jesus Christ all day long, but if I don’t have evidence backing up my claims, it is worthless.

The study of Christian evidences is something that is never-ending. This is something that you can build your faith on and strengthen it as the years go by.

If there is evidence for those things taught in the Bible, then it must be truth. However, if there is no evidence for the contents of the self-proclaimed word of God, then it isn’t truth.
I hope in future articles you will be able to see for yourself the power of God’s word and how it is proven to be reliable through various forms of evidence and trials.

Who am I?

Είμαι Χριστιανός. In other words: "I am a Christian."

That's all you need to know about us and where we stand on things.

We are not one, but a few...eventually many that contribute to the website.

What is the purpose of this blog you ask? Our mission is to spread God's word (Mark 16:15)

What kind of a Christians are we? We are Christians, no additional identifiers necessary. We belong to nothing other than the New Testament Church. Christ's Church. The Way. Those are all names that describe where our membership lies.

We are not a member of the Baptist denomination, the Methodist, the Catholic, the Mormon, etc. Christ is not divided and neither is His church.

Some things we say you may or may not agree with. Our aim is to not teach my word but rather God's word. The mistake many make about the New Testament Church is all the assumptions that come with the question "Do you believe every one else is going to Hell?"

What we will try to prove by means of the use of scriptures is that my opinion and your opinion means nothing. What your pastor, your preacher, your elders, your family, and your friends think about a spiritual matter really is completely meaningless to the Lord's opinion.

If you have a question about the scriptures that you would like help finding an answer to, you may email us at: EimaiChristianos@gmail.com

Our hope is not to tell you what we know, but help you find out what you want to know. We are servants for you. If you prefer a private response, indicate that in your message.

Hopefully, the majority of the material for this site will be rooted in questions we receive. My goal is to get to all of them.

We have a profile available on Facebook.com as well as
