I am happy to announce that you can now pre-order your copy of The Root of the Problem: Why We Sin & How We Can Overcome. More information is available by clicking on the link.

What Is This Book About?

This book deals with the universal problem of sin. In particular, it is about how Christians can overcome sin as we have been called to do. Whenever we sin, it is because we have made the choice to do so.

Why do we make that choice to sin? There are many reasons why we sin. If we hope to overcome sin, we must recognize the reasons we choose to sin and learn how to overcome and choose to do what is right. This book contains chapters dealing with various reasons why we sin:

  • Failing to see sin for what it is
  • Ignorance
  • Deception
  • Rebellion
  • Arrogance
  • Peer Pressure
  • Impatience
  • Materialism
  • Curiosity
  • Not filling our lives with good things
  • Failure to prioritize
  • Difficult circumstances
  • Making sin a habit
  • Lack of self-control
  • Lack of urgency
  • Lack of love for man
  • Lack of love for God
  • No fear of God

All of these can be reasons why we sin, but they are not excuses for sin. So these chapters not only discuss the reasons for sin, but also what we can do combat them so that we can remove sin from our lives.

Why Should You Read It?

Do you find that you struggle with certain sins? Do you face temptations that are, at times, difficult to overcome? Do you want to be better equipped to encourage others in their battles against sin? Do you want to grow to become more like Jesus Christ, the sinless Son of God?

If you answered “yes” to any of those questions, then pick up a copy of The Root of the Problem, read it, and learn how to identify the causes of sin and how to root out those causes from your life.
