4 years later!!!!

So it has been an extremely long time since I posted on here. I forgot that I had this for a while. Some of you on here I have been friends with but maybe not on Facebook.

So it is 2018:
Emalise is in 1st grade ready to try volleyball
Ophylia is in 3rd grade ready to do 4H
Korrigan is in 5th grade ready for baseball this spring and football in the fall

All the kids are growing up quick.

Justina is working at Charles River Labs now for 4 years. She started off as an intern then when she graduated they hired her as a tech, and has now moved onto becoming a trainer for new people and procedures they are wanting to do at her work. She really enjoys her job in various ways. I am happy to see the success she has had in schooling and in her work too. We as a family have continued to grow through all this.

I have mentioned that I moved further north. We had been in Wooster for 7.5 years. I was working with the brethren there during that time. In March of 2017 I had been contacted by the church in Norwalk, Ohio about working for them as their minister. I tried out in April and in June we began working with them here. I have quite familiar with the work here being a previous member on 2 different stints. Justina and I were married there in the building and it was just a natural fit for us. Although there have been some changes we are happy to be here closer to both her parents and my parents and helping them out when needed. We bought a house here just outside of Norwalk and Milan in the country with about an acre and a half of land. The kids and fur kids have plenty of room to play. But I have to learn mowing a lot of yard now too! Luckily I have a riding mower that takes me only an hour and a half to care of. We moved in the house in August right as school started. As you can see looking at the dates I did not have a home for about a month. Luckily both my parents and in-laws allowed to stay with them for the time being. I was happy to be here because the weekend we moved back up here Justina's grandfather fell and nobody could flip him over. I on the off chance went to help that day and was able to get him over. On the way there he stopped breathing and sadly passed away a week later.

I am reminded of how it can be difficult to buy a house as a preacher when you have a housing allowance. The government has no problem with during tax time but mortgage companies do which is ironic when they ask to see your taxes and see it on there. But that is all behind us now and have been in here for 5 months.

So we have sadly had to put Batman down after we moved here. He had stomach issues and many other problems and was nearing 14 years old. He couldn't hold water down any longer and that was when we knew we had to do something. But we missed having a cat aorund and eventually got a new cat a rescue who was 2 years old and we named him Simba. He is a good cat and the kids and dogs love him. Speaking of dogs we have 3 now. Molly who is 7, Loki (or BooBoo) is 4, and Whodey is 1.5. We have a lot of animals and we have the yard for the dogs to go and play.

The other big and exciting news last year is that Korrigan became a Christian! We had been talking about it for a while and Sunday night a couple days after we moved into our house he pulled me aside and said "Dad I need to become a Christian tonight!" It was a proud parenting moment where you see your child go through many things and they are starting to stick. Since then the very first thing he wanted to do was song lead (which I can and cannot believe knowing that was some of the last things I did) and helping out at the Communion Table.

Since arriving at Norwalk we had a Hispanic family place membership, 3 of our young folks have been baptized, 2 souls restored (sadly one of them fell away again), and now we have 2 more families from the community showing interest in the church here. We have been blessed so far. Hopefully this year we will work on having elders reinstalled again (it dissolved a couple years ago when one of the men suddenly passed away). We have a gospel meeting set up in the spring with Jim Lee doing the speaking April 29-May 4 which I am looking forward to!

Do continue to pray for Justina. She has been dealing with some health issues with sleep and other things. I hope and pray that we the game plan the doctors and us have been working on will help. She has to go in for a sleep study in February. Korrigan has had to start medicine for his ADHD to help him focus on the school work. It seems to be helping and we hope that it continues.

That is pretty much it. So hope everyone is doing well. Hope that 2018 will be a good year for everyone!

I was shocked to see your name lit up, but I was happy to read the synopsis of your life over the past four years. Many good things have happened, and it's good to read of the growth of your family and the Norwalk family. Hope Justina's health issues can be successfully abated. Don't be a stranger!

Glad to hear you are overall doing well and that the work in Norwalk remains well.

    We will pray for Justina.

New Entry

I see that it has been about a year and a half since I last posted.

There have been some changes in our house here. Justina had a sleeve surgery done on her stomach and has been losing weight and doing very well with everything. We began discussing it in the summer and couldn't afford it at the time. However with some perseverance and other resources we found a doctor in Cincinnati who was able to perform the surgery at a much lower cost and had 99.9 percent success with it. WE are still living in our home in Wooster, we are almost hitting the two year anniversary. Things have been going very well here.

The kids are doing okay too. Korrigan is now in the first grade. Ophylia is starting Kindergarten in the fall and Emalise will begin her preschool. Time has flown by here and it is hard to imagine how much change has happened with my children.

Since the last time I posted I have been to Florida twice. Once was with my dad as my grandfather passed away in January of 2013. The other was with my family as we took them to Disney for Christmas. It was also my first trip there to Disney. We spent a couple days at Magic Kingdom and one at Universal studios. All in all the trip went well. The kids had a fantastic time which was the more important thing and to see the look on there faces was incredible.

In March of 2013 I made a trip with my mom as my grandma had a severe stroke. We were down for my grandfathers burial service in Indiana a few after that and she passed away the following week. It was a pretty rough start for 2013. I also had a couple of funerals in between all that and it made for an emotional roller coaster.

I have now started my 5th year with the congregation in Wooster. We have been plugging away with the work here and have seen some results. We had 3 baptisms in this time since my last post. A couple here is expecting there first child and we also had a family place membership in that time frame too. The folks here have been very encouraging to me and the work was been a blessing for us.

Justina is finishing her degree in the fall of this year. She is completing a degree in Biotechnology and hopefully will be finding some work after that. There is a lot of jobs in this field in our area and not many completing said course. She has been on the Dean's List the entire time in her college career and I am very proud of her.

I have also begun a workout regiment with the Healthpoint facility here in Wooster. Since Justina had her surgery she has begun working out here and I have been encouraged to do the same. So far I have lost 25 lbs. I am also seeing the number two as my first number in weight in 7 years. I am determined to see the results continue. With I am determined to be more active outside and promote healthy lifestyle choices for myself and also my children.

I hope all is well with you on here. Our prayers are with you all!

5 More Days

I was playing the song "It's the Final Countdown" this morning and was laughing up a storm. Korrigan then called me weird. I was playing the song counting down the days till I would be flying down to help mom and dad move to North Ridgeville!

Getting closer and more excited!

I know it will be wonderful for you to have your folks so close. We at North Ridgeville are going to benefit greatly from this arrangement, too, I believe!

No it is not me this time. I just moved and don't have any intention to move. Instead next month I am going to be moving my parents up to North Ridgeville as my dad is going to begin working with the congregation there. It is about 45-50 minutes away from us. I am extremely excited about them moving even more excited about the work getting great individuals to help in the kingdom in the more north central part of the state. It will be the first time for my children that both their sets of grandparents will be within a quick trip to see them. Both will be within an hour and half of us and they will be about 40 minutes away from each other. I am glad everything has worked out and it will be good to be close to my parents traveling wise again. I haven't had this since I was preaching in Blytheville Arkansas. I will be flying down to help them move at the end of August.

In other news, Korrigan had his tests run at the end of last month and it revealed that he has not had any more seizures. Thank the Lord for the answered prayers and thank you all for continuin gto pray for my little guy at this time. He still has an appoitment next month with a cardiologist as he has developed a heart murmur. They want to make sure that isn't causing the tick syndrome. He is ready to start school in August. He starts baseball next month.

Ophylia has been telling me how she is ready to also start school as she does at the end of August. She has been talking up a storm and also really enjoying these pageants she is involved with.

Emalise still being stubborn is not walking. :) She has taken a couple of steps and has totally wiped out because of it. I think she knows that right now she is quicker at crawling so that is what she is doing. She has shown all the signs she is ready and we have been trying to coax her into doing it but still no. When she wants to she will do it.

Justina also starts school in August. So it will be just me and Emalise and the cat and dog at home. She has been wanting to do her back to school shopping but wanted to wait a little longer and see what deals she can get even better.

I have been working at the school as a security officer over the summer. It has been fun and plus they allow me to bring in my computer so I get work done as well. Since there isn't as much traffic during this time it is surely quiet in there. They still have speech therapy and physical therapy courses and one other govenrment run facility is in the building too. All in all everything is coming along fine.

The house is also another project that is coming along great in my opinion. We have painted all the rooms that we wanted to paint. The bathroom has been completely done excluding the tub and vanity cabinet. Korrigan has a new blue room. The girls have a purple room with new installed shelving for the trophies and crowns. The garage has peg board up. I have everything ready now for a garabge disposal. I have a new exterior flood light. New receptacles with grounds and some random electrical work done. Now the next couplke of things is to actuall put in the garbage disposal and a new ceiling fan in the back room. All will be done in time.

Wow it turned out to be a lot that I wrote. Hope everyone has a great summer and be safe.
