I think pretty much all of you are on facebook, and if you haven’t noticed, that’s the easiest form of communication I have been able to make time for at the moment. I still come on here as often as I can to read updates and groups, I just haven’t had the time to actually type replies and posts. Sorry, guys! I still love you all. :D
I can’t believe how much Rand has grown in the last few months. He’s now 9 months old, and he wore his very last 9-12 month outfit today. He’s just too big! He’s now wearing 12 month clothes! He has four teeth, and LOVES to eat. He doesn’t even bother with baby food anymore. He’s such a good eater! And he eats more than Brea does! I tried getting him to start drinking out of a sippy cup (
straw and cup is our next goal!) and he was just too stubborn about it. So I set it in front of him, and walked away. In no time, he was holding it and drinking it. He taught himself how to drink from it in a day! I was expecting a longer time, because it took much longer for Brea to learn how, but she was quite a bit lazier when she was his age. ;) Oh! Did I mention he is standing up on his own and tries every day to walk? He has finally conquered picking one foot up for a moment or two, but topples when he tries to move it. Any day now he’s going to be running. What will I do with myself, then? :D
Brea has brought in all of her molars all at once.. well, most of the way. She’s still irritable some of the time, but she’s been getting better. I am amazed at how big she is now. Some days it seems like when we get up in the morning she’s bigger than she was the night before! Because I’m not the best haircutter in the world, I’m working on letting her grow her bangs out. I’m torn though, because they’re so cute on her, but then there are some days they stay super messy. I might let them grow out a while and then get them trimmed professionally so I can just trim them as they get a little longer. She still loves to sing, and has been teaching Rand how to ‘sing’ as well. She also makes up all sorts of songs, mostly to the tune of twinkle, twinkle, little star. And it’s so cute to hear her try to sing the “B-L-B-L-E”.. hehe. It makes me really happy through the week when she asks to go to church. She LOVES going to church, and she loves her class; we couldn’t be any prouder of her! She’s very well potty trained except for nighttime, but these past few days we’ve been having a problem with her not telling us when she has to potty. She’s very good about telling us when she has to pee, and never gets wet, but over the past few days she’s missed on the poopy stuff. Sigh. I think it’s because she’s been wearing a pull up a little more often throughout the week and she’s fallen out of habit of noticing when she has to potty? We’re still not sure yet…
It’s amazing how little I have to update with after so many months of silence. I just find it amazing how MUCH time it takes to keep this tiny place clean! I have barely been even on facebook lately in an attempt to keep everything picked up, and no matter what, the place is never perfect. Sigh. Maybe one day I’ll get it! :P At least the place has been staying much neater than it has in the past, so I can be proud of that! My biggest downfall is laundry! I have to do it every single day, I have no clue how on earth we go through so many clothes! It’s crazy!
Speaking of clothes, it’s been such a blessing how many clothes we are always given, especially for Brea! We’ve only had to buy a few things for her. Mostly socks, panties, and random special clothes. We were sent boxes of clothes for Rand from two sweet special ladies here on Pleonast, and now we’re going through our inventory to see what we need to buy for cooler weather. We pretty much have to recreate the entire winter wardrobe, though, now that he’s running much larger than expected. Hopefully we can start picking up pieces now so that we don’t have to do one big shopping spree later. A salvation army just opened up here in town, and I’m looking forward to checking them out before we hit the slightly more expensive baby thrift store about half an hour from here. It’s been so sad putting up all these adorable clothes of theirs for good. They both had some of the cutest things!
This past week has been crazy. Yesterday was the first time I got out of the house since Sunday, because my inlaws were out of town and hubby was working, so I didn’t have a ride to church on Wednesday. Andy worked all week long. His first day off (Monday) he had to go in for jury duty, and he ended up being one of the 12 chosen. His next day off (Tuesday) he was called in, and has worked every day since. This is the first time in over a year, I think, that he’s been able to get paid for overtime, so it was nice, but I’m really looking forward to him being off tomorrow! :D
Well, it’s getting late and I have some more laundry to do before Andy gets home around midnight. And maybe I’ll get some reading in! A great kid from church let me borrow his new Mockingjay and I can NOT wait to get to reading!
I hope everyone had a wonderful weekend!!
