The Weekend

Saturday was Awesome......I Was the Number 2 Tackler in the Football game with 7 tackles!!! I am going to try to be Number one this week against the Houston team!!
John's Wedding was Beautiful and I got to spend time with some friends that I haven't seen in 7 years......guys I used to play ball with in Junior high etc....and the wedding was beautiful and we got our crazy dance on at the reception! It was a Blast!

Sunday Church was awesome as always:

And then I rehearsed for HOB...Went and Played a Softball game, ran home changed and dressed up....then headed to the HOB!!!

I had so Much fun....There were so many people there it was standing room only! Thank you for those of you who came, It means more than you will ever Know.....
I got nervous for a minute but as more people showed up and a few of the other performers went I calmed down! When it was my turn and I stepped on stage it fit just like a glove and felt like home!

According to everyone that loves me I rocked the House and Brought it Down!

I had a wonderful time and hope to do it again soon.....I think I need to get serious about this music thing and just put a band together and do it! I will be praying abotu that...until then....I have plenty more to pray for and be thankful for!!

I hope you all have been exceedingly blessed as I have!!!

Thank you Father....Lover of my soul...Sustainer!

    just go to www.bluecotton.com and you can design your shirt there and once you enter in your sizes and quantities, it will give you a price quote. or maybe it will give you a quote on the sizes and # of colors. i can't remember. but it'll tell you how much it'll cost before you order. i just print the shirts, i don't work with the numbers (-:

Basic Question with complicated answer...

We have been disscussing The Shack for a long time now. I read it so long ago I don't even remember a lot of it. Two weeks ago we disscussed a basic question that I would like everyones' opinions/answers to.

DO YOU THINK GOD SHOULD BE YOUR #1 PRIORITY(Why or Why not)?

Just to give you a little insight My short answer to that question is NO.

What do you believe?
  • megan_leigeber
    hmmm...

    My answer is yes, but if it really is, it won't always look like it is.

  • ktay
    My answer is absolutely yes.

  • tangsoodotpm
    The real question is this: does God expect me to make Him my number one priority?

    Matthew 22:37-38 "You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your mind. This is the great and foremost commandment."

    The person making this statement is Jesus, the one that was given all authority relative to salvation (Matthew 28:18-20).

    Furthermore, as author of the universe (John 1), Jesus has the right to legislate (author-ity) what man's primary objective is to be in this world. If He commands man to love Him (that is, serve Him, with the totality of man's being, which is the point of Matthew 22:37), He has the inherent right to do so, the inherent right to expect so, and the inherent right to punish those who do not.

    A good follow-up question is this: why would I not make Him my priority? After all He has done for me (Ephesians 2:8-9), why would I not live a life ("walk") that conforms to the good works He requires me to do? (Eph. 2:10)

The Shack

A lot has been going on in my life. I am so busy with everything. I have Church,Work, Football, and The Band! All of which in their own right are stressful. But I wouldn't have it any other way! I love being busy, and staying busy! I would go Crazy if it wasn't like that. Not to mention I would be spending a lot of time alone which I hardly ever do......but I am starting to think that some alone time might be good for me.

I got to visit Houston this weekend. It was my little sisters 6th Birthday! She is the cutest little kid she is just like I was at her age. Smart, Bossy, and a Brat! We had so much fun actually bowling and then playing Wii (World Tour). We totalyl failed at Crazy Train and I looked at her and she Says "What? It wasn't me I was Good!!!" We laughed for a good 10 minutes. It was greatness!!

Well The whole reson I decided to write this blog is because in my small group we are going over The Shack and I was wondering if any of you had read it and what your opinions on it were. We got into a disscussion about things we grew up thinking that don't really make any sense when you figure out how much better they are the other way.

For Example In the Shack the author talks about how Mack(the main character)has a relationship with God that is wide however, (Nan)his wife has a realationship with God that is Deep. Nan when talking to God calls him the very familial loving intimate name of Papa.

Some people would have a problem of being that intimate with God. Some people, so we disscussed, still think that is it improper to use any other language than the King James english when addressing God. I thought it was a little silly because we all pray to God in our own ways. Why would anyone seriously think you had to use, thee, thy and thou? Well I went to Church with my mom this weekend and in both services...all the men still used that language to pray every time!! Amazing something I had never noticed before hit me really hard.

The first thought that came to my mind was....does that mean it is possible that their relationship with God is Wide and therefore shallow?
Do you really think God expects you to use the language from the 16th-17th century to speak to Him?
~~~~~~~~~~~~~ There will be more added later!
    i've actually read that book and i didn't care for it very much. the way he described god kept giving me a mental image of the oracle from the matrix.
    but i have heard people pray with the "thees" and "thous" and while i have no intention of using them, i think some people who pray that way mean it in a respectful way. sure, some pray that way out of habit...but i think others think that it is more reverent to refer to god that way.
    take that as you will (-:
    ...haven't read The Shack but it's funny how people perceive that speaking to God in the "King's English" is somehow more reverent than the language we use today. Why not Hebrew or Greek as well? Showing the proper reverence and respect to God, not only with our words but in how we live is what is required by Him.
    I hvae to agree with Dan...but I do believe it is possible for people to be to "buddy buddy" with God. Not to say we cannot have a close relationship with God but God doesn't "pal" around with us. And speaking to him as if he does is removes or lessens his holiness (well...it does in our mind anyway)
    Just a bit of advice...try not to remind your mom that she is turning 50 this year. She might not be as...happy...to be 50 as I am.
With so many things going on in the world who has time to pay attention to the little things.......
Like what is going around you while you are driving!!
On my way out of my office building, Going to Lunch, I walked out the front door and scanning the parking lot saw two trucks. One parked while people were unloading things from it, and a grey pick up truck that had pulled up close enough to the other truck that I could not pass between them, and perfectly in my direct path. So I, being cautious, veer to the right about 3 ft behind the Pick-up truck when all of a sudden the Pick-up truck throws it into reverse and backs into the right side of my body. Because I was already moving so fast in a forward direction I was kind of startled but kept moving and quickly got out from behind the vehicle. I threw my arms up into the air and shouted "REALLY!!!!!" and then continued onto my car. Being that I wasn't severely harmed I didn't feel it necessary to belittle, yell at, or even talk to the older gentleman who backed into me. Nope, I just kept walking and sat down in my car and continued to be utterly disturbed by the lack of awareness that people have of other people and their surroundings while in extremely heavy, dangerous, and deadly weapons. I could have seriously been injured. This is definitely one of those moments I know that God is watching out for me and protects me from harm. He is my shield and defender, the ancient of days, ruler of all, Merciful and Mighty...and don't even get me started on His unfailing Grace & Love.
Hope everyone had a wonderful day!!
On a sad not my grandma (Louise Conley) fell yesterday and broke her collarbone. Please pray that she have a speedy recovery with no complications.
Always,
Deondra
