Oompa Loompa's for McCain

Oompa, Loompa, doom-pa-dee-do
I have a perfect puzzle for you
Oompa, Loompa, doom-pa-dee-dee
If you are wise, you’ll listen to me

What will you get if you vote for Barack?
He talks about change and defeat in Iraq.
What makes you want such a socialist state?
Is Russia really all that great?

No freedom of expression.

Oompa, Loompa, doom-pa-dee-da
If you’re not fooled, then you will go far.
You will live in happiness too
Like the Oompa Loompa doom-pa-dee-do

Over a Year Out

It's a little early to start making predictions on this sort of thing, and given that I'm an accountant and this is tax season I'm not in any place to do much research on politics but of all the people out there mentioned as possibilities for or actively pursuing the presidency I haven't been particularly interested in anyone until recently.

So Fred Thompson has said he might think about it. Which at this point is the smart play, though it may save a little time if politicos would just tell us if they aren't going to run. I say it's the smart play because the election is in November... next year... 21 months from now.

Now on to Sen. Thompson.

I think he seems like a good guy and he looks, on my first pass, to have the conservative bona fides. I'm not sure that he's another Reagan, but I think he could play one in the White House.
  • jenbug
He's the only one I decided to actually read about. I mean the guy is on Law and Order. He can't be bad.

And the late Jerry Orbach could be his VP.

With a constantly changing field (9 or something like that) it is good to see someone with a name and some conservative values.

Michael Medved said he wasn't good on Tort reform (sp)(you know he a lawyer)I like him so far... and Newt, but he's got the adultry thing and a particurlay piercing negative media focus... the Mass governer has me concerned but maybe... politics is crazy... and so was the AQUA TEENAGE HUNGER FORCE movie

I am a fan of Mr. Thompson. I would even give him some of my money if he decided to run. P.S. I liked your little joke at the end of the post. very clever.

The word on the street is that he is a baptized believer. His mom, Ruth, goes to Brentwood church of Christ. FYI

New Law

It's official. We have a ruling in a federal court. It is now illegal to be a Republican.

That's the only explaination I can come up with.

"Scooter" Libby was just convicted on 4 of 5 charges brought against him, relating lying to a federal prosecutor in regards to actions which were not crimes.

So basically the jury found that a man should go to prison for making two different statements months apart over specific conversations months after he had them.
  • goonie
It's absurd that this entire matter is over "He said, She said"

  • skinns
have you heard about fred Thompson? What do you think? He said that he would pardon Scooter right now.

A Question for the Ages

This has been nagging me for a couple of days now.

Who would win in a fight: Clint Eastwood in Pale Ride or Clint Eastwood in Unforgiven?
  • hamm0ndeggs
I think Clint Eastwood in Unforgiven, provided he's got some whiskey in him.
