The kids gave Larry the Wii game system for his father's day gift and I must say it was a success. We have been bowling, golfing, playing softball, tennis, volleyball, croquet, and air hockey; even the coolest cow races...that ones hilarious. We have had a lot of fun with it and will probably use it a lot. Come see us and we'll put you on one of those cows and see how you do!!!

Well, Larry & I are soon to be embarking on another change in our lives. Larry has accepted a new job at Lufkin Industries as a machinist's helper. He will start out working all graveyard shift, Sunday through Thursday nights. He has not worked shift work in many years and it will be a definite adjustment for both of us. We have been used to his flexible hours as a bus driver but he feels this will be a better opportunity for him in the long run. He has not quit the transportation department yet and says he may still do some afternoon driving if they need him to. He will have to see how he adjusts to a new sleeping pattern. Please pray for us that this will work out. We will also see how his foot feels in this new job. He says he won't have to be up on it a lot. We head for his M.D. appointment (a foot specialist) in Houston on the 23rd to see what they tell him. We are trying to see if it may be his back vs. the foot.

We took a spur of the minute roadtrip over to Baton Rouge for the long Memorial Day weekend, to spend with Larry's sister and brother-in-law and kids. We had originally planned to go to the lake and play but Dru's friends he wanted to go had other plans so we decided on Thursday afternoon to go. We left after work on Friday and returned on Mon. afternoon. It was very relaxing and uneventful just the way we wanted it to be. Just a long trip. Unfortunately I came home with yet another sinus infection (the 3rd this year) so went to the doc yesterday and got some good ole antibiotics. Hopefully it will go away quickly this time for good!
