Fading Beauty

since last time I posted something I wrote everyone thought I was having issues, so this time its not the whole depressing theme or anything like that.

There is no beauty like a rose,
The bud so bright its essence glows
But once it’s plucked, you will see
Its beauty fade most assuredly.
Once the pedals have wilted away
None of the beauty will ever stay.

If you seek the beauty of flesh,
You will find it in someone young.
As you look upon her face
You know your eyes, they have good taste,
But as you see her day by day
Her charm begins to melt away.
The beauty is gone from her body and face,
But her eyes still show her beauty and grace.

If your soul yearns for beauty of spirit,
Look not with your eyes, but your heart.
The one you seek has an ageless soul
Though her flesh may be withered and old.
When your hearts unite
And your spirits soar,
You will be together forevermore.
The beauty of spirit never fades
But grows brighter through endless days.
