Have you ever just stopped to think...
"I saw ten thousand talkers whose tongues were all broken." (Bob Dylan)

"While riding on a train goin' west,
I fell asleep for to take my rest.
I dreamed a dream that made me sad,
Concerning myself and the first few friends I had.
With half-damp eyes I stared to the room
Where my friends and I spent many an afternoon,
Where we together weathered many a storm,
Laughin' and singin' till the early hours of the morn.
By the old wooden stove where our hats was hung,
Our words were told, our songs were sung,
Where we longed for nothin' and were quite satisfied
Talkin' and a-jokin' about the world outside.
With haunted hearts through the heat and cold,
We never thought we could ever get old.
We thought we could sit forever in fun
But our chances really was a million to one.
As easy it was to tell black from white,
It was all that easy to tell wrong from right.
And our choices were few and the thought never hit
That the one road we traveled would ever shatter and split.
How many a year has passed and gone,
And many a gamble has been lost and won,
And many a road taken by many a friend,
And each one I've never seen again.
I wish, I wish, I wish in vain,
That we could sit simply in that room again.
Ten thousand dollars at the drop of a hat,
I'd give it all gladly if our lives could be like that." (Bob Dylan)
ahh, how i wish i could write like that.

What is power? Is it really what everyone wishes they had? What is TRUE power? Is it what the government has? Is it what our parents have over us? When we look at this, i guess these positions could be viewed at as having power, but it seems as though in this society that we live in rebeliousness is what is searched for, and its been this way forever. People have always wanted to make their own rules, run their own lives, and not have anyone tell them what to do.
BAM!!! It has been granted. all power has been given to you. What do you do now? you know what people think, you know how people are going to react, you know everything. nothing has power over YOU. Now lets put you back...hmm...lets say back during the times of Judges of the Isrealites. You got what you wanted...you got all the "Power" you want. but lets say you have a heart and you know whats best for people and you actually try to help them. You send others to help the people. and they just flat out dont listen. Now what?....i dont know about you but if after 5 times of me warning these people and they never listen i would pretty much strangle them...what would that solve...obviously nothing. or i would make them listen...what would that solve...again...nothing cuz its not real listening. so how would you go about doing it? i wouldnt be able to handle. i would also want people to listen just for me.
so what would YOU do with all that power? its hard to say. but i can tell you we dont have power...AND FOR GOOD REASON. God has that power...AND FOR GOOD REASON. we cannot handle what we want cuz we dont know what we want. God has that power. to know what we need. When you read through the book of Judges you can really see God's power displayed in many different ways. For one, he sends Gideon with 300 men, to defeat 15,000 men, and 120,000 swordsmen. And he does it. not only does he do it, but he sends the other men fleeing from him. and he capures there King. God's power is truely evident. and after all this...the Isrealites still fall away from God. yet God is patient. and thats another place where God's power is shown. in his patience. God is truely powerful and must be taken completly seriously, cuz BAM!!!! life could be over....
Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge Him, and He with make you paths straight-(Proverbs 3:5-6)-
