It's been months and months since I've written anything on Pleo; I guess FB is just quicker and easier for photo-sharing. But, I do get on occasionally to see what people are up to.
Lydia is now 19 months and such a joy in our lives.
Also, 2012 will bring a new bundle of joy. We should be expecting a little boy to make his arrival on May 10th, right around Lydia's 2nd birthday.
Lydia is over five months now, so we tried her out on rice cereal today. She LOVED it and cleaned the bowl. I'm going to keep it up for a couple of weeks and then I can't wait to start cooking some baby food. I'm so excited!
Here is a cute video of Dan blowing on Lydia. Also, I've included some pictures of our first solids experiencs. I'm so glad Dan worked from home today because he got to share in the moment:
cute video, to go right along with the cute little one!
Lydia is so beautiful. Thnx for the suggestions, I've been trying to work on getting her to go down stairs safely but she likes to hop off them (I think she might take alot after her dad), so I have the one on the bottom so if she goes up them its while shes being watched.
We need one for the top of the stairs, but because of the railing and the baseboards, it's uneven at the top and the bottom. I've been looking for some on Craigslist, but I have no idea what kind of model to get. I tried a plain wood sliding gate, but the rubber stoppers didn't support the uneven top and bottom situation.
Any thoughts?
There are some that screw into the wall. I can't remember the brands either, but OneStepAhead.com usually has a lot of this sort of thing and should give you an idea of brands/models to look for elsewhere. Hope that helps.
Let me know if you find one... we have one on the bottom of the stairs but I don't want the same kind for the top... its kinda shaky. So so don't get Safety 1st plastic that extends to fit the opening. It screws into the wall but it just doesn't line up that well.
As you can see from my Baby Ticker, Lydia is over three months old now. I'm enjoying every minute of being a mother! It's been incredible:) She has been an absolute angel!
Here's some recent pictures. We took Lydia to JCPenny's for her 3-month pictures.
In other news, I just celebrated my 26th birthday. Dan jokes and says that I'm now on the wrong side of 20, although he can't talk too much, because he'll be hitting 30 next year:) My mother-in-law made me and my father-in-law a special birthday meal consisting of filet mignon, roasted rosemary potatoes, wedge salad, and strawberry cheesecake. Yum Yum!
I've started my online teaching again. It hasn't been too much work. I can get everything done during one of Lydia's naps during the day. I'm blessed to be able to have this opportunity that I can do from work. It's humbling and exciting to meet students from all walks of life, from all areas from around the globe.
Anyway, have a great Labor Day weekend, everyone:)
Awe, the pictures are so cute!!!! :) All these babies make me so sentimental for my own little Emerson to come. Sounds like you guys had a delicious birthday meal! :) If I am able to quit working full time (which is my hope), I may look into something part time from home also... not sure yet what all the options are, but I'm kinda waiting to see what our financial status is going to look like once Jesse's retirement kicks in....
Hand, Foot, and Mouth disease is a childhood disease that is viral. The child starts with a medium-high fever and a couple of days later, white ulcers show up in their mouths and sometimes even on their hands, feet, and diaper area. The virus is contagious until the blisters go away in about 7 days. There is nothing to do for it except treat for pain and fever and wait for the blisters to clear up. It's not dangerous, just really uncomfortable. Some young adults could possibly get it if they've never had it before, but most kids have, even if they didn't realize what it was. Overall, it's been a rough few days with them so miserable!
That is a great idea! These $6.?? for a box of 60 of them. They take up a lot of space, but I thought that was pretty cheap per meal. But making thing in bulk and freezing them is usually cheaper. Maybe I'll try that when these run out. Thanks! My mom has a Mickey waffle iron that the girls think is the coolest. :)
Lydia is two months old today! It's amazing that it's only been 2 months. It seems like she's always been in our lives. She is a true blessing from God and an incredible little person. I love being Lydia's mother and Dan's wife. God is so good.
Here is a slideshow of Month #2. We go for her checkup tomorrow and I can't wait to see how much she's grown!
I really like that picture of her smirking (like she knows something we don't know). I totally understand how you feel! It's so fun to watch them grow. They're a lot of work, but soooo worth it. And wonderful husbands are wonderful help. ;-) She's so beautiful. :-)
Yeah, it's a big one of mine, too, but mostly it makes me laugh because it can be quite funny when used out of context like that. Facebook is the worst for finding blunders like that! Now, I am not a naturally wonderful speller, so you might find spelling errors that bring you laughs in my posts, but usually, I do well with grammar usage.
That would be Dr. and Mrs. Bob Parker. They are wonderful leaders for our congregation. I knew they were out of town, but I thought they were somewhere in the Hill Country. Glad you got to meet them.
