I haven't posted in forever...here's some updates:

*Only four weeks until summer vacation!! YAY!!
*Hannah survived her first experience with the TAKS test (state testing)
*Hannah worked up the courage to audition for the school talent show, playing the piano...now we wait to see if she made it (they have almost 100 students auditioning for about 30 slots
*Rachel "graduates" from Pre-K in two weeks (the mayor is the guest speaker, WOW!) and has her first ballet recital in 3 weeks
*Rachel has been going to occupational therapy for about a month now, she loves it!, and she sees a new pediatrician this week in our search to understand her pain (the therapist says the pain is not part of her SID diagnosis, and suggested we get a new pediatrician), please pray for this (tonight Rachel prayed to God that He would give her "new body parts" without pain so she wouldn't hurt when she starts kindergarten)
*I finish my graduate coursework next week (WOOHOO!!!), but I have to wait until August to graduate because Spring graduation is this weekend and my class goes over by a week (that's ok, I'll still be done)

Rachel saw the neurologist today, and he did a thorough job of evaluating her, however he is quite sure she does not have neuropathy. I guess that is good, but leaves us with still no answers. He is doing more blood work to look for a few other things and he asked me to begin having her work with a pediatric occupational therapist to try "sensory integration". He wants us to look at her having a hyper sensory condition which affects just a couple of areas of her body. He hopes that with therapy she might learn to not have reactions/pain in those areas. We'll try anything!! Does anyone know a reputable pediatric OT on this side of town? This doctor she saw today is at Medical City Dallas and I can't drive over there several times a week for therapy, but he didn't know anyone over this way. Thanks for your continued prayers!!!

That's good and bad news. Hopefully you can find someone close that can start working with her. We will continue to pray! Thanks for updating us.

When I worked in coppell we had SO many kiddos come in diagnosed with SID. I don't know what ped they were using!!!!

I'd like to request prayers for Rachel. As many of you know, she has battled pain since she was a baby and has endured lots of tests and hospital visits, but with no determination of the cause. She tries really hard to just be a happy kid, and hide her pain, but since she will go to school this fall, I am determined to find a doctor that will find a solution so she doesn't have to go to school in pain. It just breaks my heart to see her tears. The last few months we have dealt with an allergist to eliminate all possible food allergies that might be causing the GI problems. He eliminated allergies as the culprit, and after evaluating Rach, he suggested we see a neurologist and pursue "peripheral neuropathy". My sister and I have researched this and many, many of her symptoms fit what we have read about. So, this Friday we are going all the way to Medical City Dallas to see the top pediatric neurologists in north texas. Please pray that they can figure this out! I am sure that it will mean many more tests, but if it gets us to a diagnosis, we can move forward and help her. Thank you!

It was a great day! Played 18 holes of frisbee golf with my brother and aunt (dragged both girls with me and they were wonderful, loved being outside all morning). Then we decided spur of the moment to go to NRH2O, that would have been better if the sky didn't turn gray and the temperature drop to 80 (a little cold for water rides). Then we headed to the hospital to meet baby Caleb. He's a cutie!

Tomorrow we head to the lake. There is work to be done, but I feel quite sure we can sneak in a little swimming and jet skiing. I bought new water skiis and a stronger tow rope Monday, definitely need to try those out.

Life is good!!!

thanks for the prayers! he is doing great so far, but hasnt started rehab on the knee yet. He lives in west texas but his doctor for his heart/lung disease is in dallas, so the surgery was in dallas yesterday.
