I know I have been rather quiet this summer.

But I have had a lot on my mind. And Tris and the kids are here for the summer. Abby has just started walking this week and Thomas has near talked my ear off! Brett is definitely a change from my three older grandsons, but not at all what I used to picture when I heard the word "autistic".

I am currently on Tristan's computer, (Mine won't let me on here.) and I have been able to download some pictures. The one to your right is Abby, Brett, and Thomas. There are new ones in my Abby room and in my Brett room also. And in my gallery are a few pics taken when Linda was here.

Just looking at this picture helps me see why you've been "quiet" -- I'll look forward to looking at all the other pictures when we get back. (I should be packing as we speak....)

I just read a new book for my middle school book club called Anything But Typical. It narrates from an older boy with autism.
So glad you have them around you now!

What a cute pic! I am with you on the "quiet" thing...such a zoo at my house most days, no time to waste on the computer! We'll have to get Jon and Thomas together again-they had such a good time playing.

well, we have yet to find a summer reading book that was appropriate. the ones we picked have language in it. I want to read Against the Odds: Shark Bite, by Todd Strasser. We've been trying to find a website that is like the christian spotlight except for books. haven't been lucky to find one yet

  • sissy12
yeah we have a list. we are required to give the report on one of the books. thats what really stinks b/c we dont really know what is in them, and the teachers dont really find a problem with language being in there.

Topic: AN HONEST LOOK AT THE BIBLE AND EVOLUTION
July 12-17
7:30 pm
Classes through grade 3..... 4th grade and up are in the auditorium.

Guest Speaker: Jeff Shane
Hope you can make it!!!!!!

I have the K-3 class. Here's a song I made up for the occasion. tune: He has the whole world in His hands.

God made the whole world in six days.
He made the whole world in six days.
He made the whole world in six days.
He made the whole world in six days.

God said, “Let there be light,” and there was!
He divided the light from the dark.
He called the light “day”, the dark “night”.
And that was the first day.

The next thing God made was the sky,
The next thing He made was the sky,
The next thing He made was the sky,
And that was the second day.

God gathered the waters into seas,
And let the dry land appear in between.
Then He made grass, herbs, and trees,
And that was the third day.

God made the sun day, moon for night.
He made the sun for day, moon for night.
He also put stars in the sky.
And that was the fourth day.

Let the waters abound with creatures.
Let the birds fly above in the sky.
“Be fruitful,” He said, “Multiply.”
And that was the fifth day.

God made the beasts of the earth,
Then God made man from the dust.
From Adam’s rib, God made Eve.
And that was the sixth day.

God saw the whole world He had made.
He saw the whole world He had made.
He saw the whole world He had made
And He said that it was good.

God made the whole world in six days.
He made the whole world in six days.
He made the whole world in six days.
He made the whole world in six days.

creation

Does anyone know where I can go online to find worksheets, etc., on the wonders of God's creation? Like the woodpecker's beak and things like that?

Thx, with Mom being diabetic, I know some really good sugar-free brands that don't taste like chalk. So that'll help me with munchies, I'm hoping to find a really good cookbook, where I can make Chris and I dinner that he'll enjoy as well. It's going to be such a hard change.

AS A NEW WEEK BEGINS...

may His word be always in our hearts.
may our thoughts, our words, and our actions be those which are pleasing to Him.

Here is an encouraging (I hope) thought -- this morning, I was still somewhat under the weather and didn't want to take a chance on spreading whatever it is I'm fighting, so I stayed home, but I listened to our services live on the computer. If you are ever having to stay home, or if, because of a time difference, you are near a computer at 9:55 Eastern time, log onto www.embryhills.com and scroll down the right hand side till you find "listen to our services live" or words to that effect. You will hear the songs, prayers, and lessons (even the coughs and the babies!) and I am sure you will be encouraged. (This message brought to you by ....)

Our just turned 6 yr old went to the bathroom during services this morning and my son said he heard her singing "Hallelujah, What a Savior" quite loudly. Oh well, it could have been worse, I guess. Thankfully we didn't hear her in the auditorium! :)

How do you broadcast services through the computer? We have some shut-ins in our congregation who would LOVE to hear the service.

I don't know what to tell you.

So why don't you each tell me something new... or something funny... or something encouraging... even something sad if that is what your life is at the moment.
  • w3jl
I have a sinus infection and haven't been out of the house since Sunday morning. I was able to attend services Sunday morning, but haven't been able to go since then. This is the first time since then that I have felt a little better. My head is still stuffy, nose runny, coughing, but no fever since yesterday and not as sick to my stomach. Maybe I'll make it to a service before our gospel meeting is over Friday!! How have you been?

I believe I wrote to you some months back. Aren't you related to H. Hartsell? I had ask if he remembered a fellow classmate from F/H named Ray Chester. As to your post below, my son served in Iraq with the Navy in 2005.

today we were happy to get much accomplished on some of the end of the year sorting and cleaning at school! Sometimes every little bit helps and it helps more when you have teamwork. Hope you had a good day

well, something, funny, encouraging, sad, hmmmmm... My husband has been looking for a car to deliver papers out of and that has not been an easy task. You don't want a great car just something good enough to last two or more years that is in decent condition. How's that?

I've been sick too, but I'm getting better, and that's encouraging for me! I am not good at being sick and it has made me appreciate the joys of being well!
