Julie Freeberg

One of my closest friends outside the church is a young lady by the name of Julie Freeberg. I am asking you all to please pray for her right now and for her family. Her father is dying from cancer and she is not taking it well as she is stuck in Tucson most of the week to go to the University of Arizona and she only gets to be with her daddy on the weekend. He is her knight in shining armor and must be quite a man as the daughter he has raised is one of the most incredible young ladies I have ever met. In addition to prayers I ask that you take a minute out of your day to write a note or send a card to Julie or her family. Hopefully an impression can be made on her from an outpouring of love from all my brothers and sisters in Christ. Her family's address is: 5526 E. Anderson Dr. Scottsdale, AZ 85254

I'm offended that you'd say I'm throwing away my vote by voting for the man I believe best suited to the office. And when I say we can't afford McCain, I don't mean that he isn't better than Obama. But he still holds to policies that will be detrimental to our nation. You can't expect things to be great with one candidate because he's comparitavely better than the other. Eight years of Bush have taught us that the hard way.

The point is any money made from that movie goes to that church...it's kinda like going to the pancake breakfast put on by the baptist church down the street. (random example there)

Ok, I can see your point. But if you are going to use that logic, then you cannot go see anymore Disney movies because Disney supports gay rights and that violates God's laws.

I would rather watch a movie made by "Christians" than watch movies that are made by people who have no respect for God and want to push their liberal agenda on me.
    by stephiblair at 10/13/08 12:54AM
  • stephiblair
Also, when I watch those liberal movies, by your logic, I am then promoting and condoning their beliefs.

That was the most retarded argument to not go that movie that anyone could make..... Everyday you make purchases that directly contribute to companies that are tied to denominations, doctrines, or ideals that differ from ours in the church. Wow Sara you are going to have to be careful where you get your food from now on too....you see alot of Jewish people are involved in the restaraunt or food industry. Your purchase could result in more money being tithed right into the coffers of the local Jewish congregation! Gasps....

As for Dr. Corndog here: Grow up. You post comething completely irrational and not well thought out on my page then complain when I tell you how it is. Maybe you need to get into the army like I did and have a drill sergeant rock your little utopian world for a while til you get some common sense and learn not to go around sniveling over stupid crap.

Ok I know you can't stop your money from falling into thigns you don't support sometimes by round about ways, but when the money goes directly to something like that and you know it, shouldn't you at least consider it?! I know that it is impossible to make sure that nothing you buy contributes to people/groups that you dont' support but when something is so obviously supporting something like this is, I mean it says it on the movie's website! And please don't belittle me and make me out to be an idiot because I felt the need to let you know about something that I thought important that's very rude and down right mean. And you'll notice I didn'ty try to forbid her from going to see it I simply onformed her of where the money is going directly so that she could make her own decision on the matter. I mean really belittling a degrading people just because they don't think exactly like you, how immature and small can you get! I don't want to attack each other back and forth, I'm just trying to defend myself where I have felt attacked and let's end this here because I don't want to start a huge debate and cause drama...just respect and kindness would be nice.

I agree, Jarred, we should all be careful of our words. This is a really hot topic and emotions run high. Having said that, I would like to ask you, Jarred, if you could clarify your statement about God allowing a bad man to be put in power to "test us." I don't believe that God would ever will something bad to happen to his people; although he does allow things to happen. Also it is my Biblical understanding that God does not cause us to be tempted/tested. James 1:13 "Let no man say when he is tempted, I am tempted of God: for God cannot be tempted with evil neither he tempteth. But every man is tempted when he is drawn away of his own lust and enticed."

Jarred, God does not plan Hilter, Stalin, etc... God is not overruled by their ungodly deeds and will work in spite of them. He did not send the devil but fooled the devils evil work. You have a wrong view of God working in the affairs of men. All things work for good does not mean evil works for good but it means that we have a higher hope and refuge.

Evil is evil and it has its horrible consequences. Please don't minimize ungodly men by somehow thinking it is God's will.

Data says: democrats are stupid!

Here is the data on education which is highly correlated with IQ:

% of Democrats-----------32%--------------------------15%
% of Independents--------22%--------------------------18%
% of Republicans---------19%--------------------------23%

Here is the data on people who earn incomes over $75,000 which is also highly correlated to IQ:

-------------------------Income under $75,000--------over $75,000
% of Democrats------------------74%---------------------------26%
% of Independents---------------72%---------------------------28%
% of Republicans----------------57%--------------------------43%

It's all a left-wing liberal conspiracy. Dumb down the people, feed and entertain them with bread and circuses and tell them lies that are so incredulous they must be true (or so the uneducated will believe. I was listening to John Justice this morning and they were talking about FDA regulations on food from dumpy supermarkets. John Justice was making the point that people don't have to shop there and this lady called in and actually said "well, what if they can't make those decisions by themselves?" Just an example of how the democrats are dumbing down society. Tell them they are dumb and that Big Brother must make all of the decisions, even little ones, like where they buy their groceries.

One of the girls in the art group, considers herself a republican, she does not like Obama, she drives a big pickup and thinks we should drill in Alaska,but... shes pro-life. Her reasoning is that a baby is just cells up to a certain point ,then its a baby. How do I explain to her that from the moment a child is conceived it is a living breathing thing with the right to live?

Tony Snow- An Example of Preparation

I have been deeply saddened by waking up to the news of Tony Snow's passing from this life. In passing from this life to another life that is.....It seems Mr. Snow was very accutely aware of the life after the one here on this earth and spent time making sure that he was "prepared" for that. Mr. Snow as a father was concerned with his children being "prepared" for life. Mr. Snow was always "prepared" when he entered into a discussion on his political punditry program. He excelled as White House press secretary because he always showed up "prepared" to disseminate the necessary information on the Bush agenda as well as crush liberal misconceptions and stupidity laced into comments and questions from the media pool. Long before this he worked on a daily basis "preparing" our first Bush President for oratory excellence through his speech writing skills. Finally I can only imagine that alot of the character and approach to life that embodied Mr. Snow resulted from losing his mother to colon cancer when he was only 17 years of age as it made him aware of the time we aren't promised to have in this life and therefore we must always be prepared.

Not to mention he was a rather dashing man. They don't make them like him anymore.
