So I got scammed on these seats...

I bought some seats from a guy on Craigslist... he said they were from a 65 GTO, which means they should have been the same as a 65 Chevelle or El Camino...

I got them home and they were too wide... 2 1/8 inches to be exact.

I read some online... someone said they were exactly the same as Chevelle seats; only wider.

I decided... to attempt to modify them.

A trip to Harbor Freight for fresh saw-all blades, and after reconnecting my welder wiring...

I also welded up some of my exhaust.... I seemed to have lost the photos of the seat when I finished the back... I'll go take another one now that it is in the car awaiting upholstery.

I applied for a new position.

Within the same company...

I'm applying for a display artist job at another store in town...

I told a friend about it, and he applied and got an interview, then I thought about how poor I am, and considered leaving the great people at my current job for another store...

I decided I needed to not be poor. So I took a portfolio by today. I ask that you pray that I get the job, because realistically I need it. My friend needs it, but he also is fresh out of college and I believe he is qualified for other jobs, and I think this is a good step in a career for me. I'll be able to return to Park University online if I get a steady m-f 7-4... I'll also be able to rent a place with a carport or garage and continue working on my car, and be able to live a little more freely.

Lately i've been under the pressure of paycheck to paycheck, and while I've been blessed with no financial tragedies and trustworthy vehicles, I need to start saving and taking more control of my financial situation as I get older.

Please pray that everything works out with that job in a good way, and that I might have the chance to move up in the bank account sort of way.

Full Time Display Team Lead.... Finally

Last year I was in classes and couldn't go full time, and it took a whole year for it to come back around as an opportunity.

I was the only part-time team lead around... so now I have dental!! I can fix that tooth that I chipped.

I am glad to have some steady hours, and at some point VACATION TIME!! Hurray.

Time to get some real work done on the El Camino.

So I say my family doesn't do Christmas...

but really I mean they used to not do Christmas...

I'm pretty sure they do it now... at least significantly more so than when I was a kid.

I remember getting an appeasement gift. Usually around New Years...

Now I hear of siblings receiving game boys.... Sure, I'll probably get a cell phone bill paid or something.

But the point is that I was young once too... and I didn't have Christmas... I can never go back and have it.

To me Christmas will never be real. ha

I need to start coming up with the plot for Electronihua... the holiday I will invent for my kids... where a robot brings you gifts.
  • jerome
electronihua sounds like a joyous season for all.

ha. if you invent that holiday i will have my future kids celebrate it

I was going to write quite similar to this one today. :p Except I don't have younger sibblings who are celebrating it. Actually, Jenny's parents, who started the whole "let's not celebrate Christmas" thing have been celebrating it in a big way with their aged live-in uncle. But, I have totally skewed views on holidays. ...I'll just finish writing that post on it. It's not long enough to be a real post and not short enough to be a comment.

Turns out, it was long enough to be a real post. In fact, I cut it short because it started to feel whiney.

El Camino updates...

Today I cleaned the radiator support and inner fenders pretty well.

I'm going to finish dismantling the front clip and prep it for welding... hopefully I'll get to that tomorrow evening.

I am arranging to pick up some 64 GTO seats, they have the same frame, just different covers, so i'll have to order the black ones that go on the El Camino, later on. For now I'll just stuff a pillow in the rip and wrap it in a Fiesta Blanket. The seats are $150, and the upholstery is $130 and the new foam is about $60 a seat... so I'll get to that later on.

I'm in communication with a guy who will trade my wheels for some 80's Iroc 16" wheels for a difference of $80. I'll have to hunt down some used tires though.

I just got over being sick today... I feel like it was a pretty unproductive day, everything I attempted failed... like the saturn on emissions and the new mass air flow sensor on my roommates VW.
