Well, Wayne and I joined facebook and have found lots of people there...friends we've lost touch with in years gone by. I also added our vacation pictures there if anyone is interested.

That picture of the dessert we had on thanksgiving is on Tim's camera and I'm not sure how to get it off. He'll have to do that.... I'll tell him and then write him a post-it note and stick it on his desk so he doesn't forget ;)

HI! I just re-read your comment about your trip to the mountain, and thought Id's say "hello" Hope you-guys are enjoying the holidays. We are still "digging out". Last nite at midnight we were trying to clear snow off the back roof and break up the "ice dam" at the edge because the bathroom ceiling had a leak... fun, fun, fun...actually it was kinda fun, but the roof is a concern now, plus it had a few drips around the new windows before but it was short and I had forgotten about it... not a good thing to do! hahaha but we figgured out how to help it last nite so we should be able to head it off next time ... hopefully for the rest of the winter at least!

We're in Gatlinburg!!

Hi friends!

Wayne and I are in Gatlinburg this week for a vacation--just the two of us. My daughter-in-law's parents were going to join us but were not able to. Anyway, we are having soo much fun. Yesterday we went hiking, then had lunch at KFC (ha!). Then we went to a visiter center, watched a movie, toured their museum, and visited their shop. Then on to Cade's Cove, then horseback riding. Last night we relaxed and channel surfed. Today we plan to shop at one of my favorite places here--I forgot the name of it but it's Dolly's Quilts or something like that in Pigeon Forge.

Oh yes, Monday, we actually looked at land at The Homestead. 6.1 acres with a beautiful panoramic view for 165,000. Nope, we didn't get it!! It sure was nice dreaming for a few minutes though... :) I feel at home here. Maybe that's because I'm from Tennessee and I feel a part of my heritage, plus I absolutely love the mountains, country decor and log cabins...did I mention the nice people?

Anyway, we've taken pictures and I'll post when I can.

Have a great time! I love driving through Tennessee. It's so beautiful. Have the trees started to change yet? When we drove through last year, early Nov. the trees were in the middle of changing colors!

Sinner's prayer

I was reading an article in a magazine today while eating a honey roasted chicken sandwich at KFC in Lawton, OK. Some religious group had the article. In it was the sinner's prayer. It talked about becoming a new creature and being born again...lately I get so frustrated with people on stuff like this...I just want to say:
(1) where do you read about God and Christ? answer: the Bible; (2) where do you read of Christ's love and what he did for us? answer: the Bible;
3)Where do you read about how we need Christ and need to be born again? answer: the Bible;
4) Where do you read that you must be born again? answer: the Bible;Where do you read of the sinner's prayer allowing you to be born again? huh? Do I hear silence? Absolutely, because the Bible says to be born again you must be buried with Christ in baptism to come in contact with his blood--not say a prayer.

As Christ shed His blood on the cross, we die with him in the watery grave of baptism. He was resurrected on the 3rd day; When we resurrect out of the water (though we don't stay under for 3 days--ha) we are a new creature, born again...Why can't people understand this simple Bible teaching? Why is this teaching so hard for people to accept?

What do you think or do you disagree?

It is frustrating when there is literature left around without the whole truth.

Napthalie (lady from church) and I drove to Charlotte and saw the American Idol Tour. It was great. We were far away, but we enjoyed it.

Still love working from home. I've traveled a lot this year and am getting ready to go to Oklahoma for 3 weeks.

Glad that you had a good time at the concert. When do you go to Oklahoma? Elizabeth got her GED and wants to move back to SC. She has a friend who she is going to live with. Her friend is very interested in going to church and will be flying out here this week-end.
I miss you too and I will let you know when I will be out there. Elizabeth and I are driving out, probably in the next month.
