Picture update!!!

OK, here you all go! Pictures, pictures, pictures! Some of these are quite old but I thought everyone would like to see how Haley has changed over the months instead of just shocking you with how big she is. Anyway these pictures will take you up through mid March aside from Haley's 7 month pic which was just taken last week. Side note: Haley's professional 3 month pic made into the Kansas City Star a few months ago when they were featuring babies born in "08. Enjoy!

Just read about potty time. That is great. We are ECing Timothy and LOVE it. While Lydia has been "trained" for months now, taking brother to the potty seems to help her too. I don't think she even remembers what diapers were like.

Wow, the children have grown so much. Haley is so changed from Christmas. She is smiling alot! I hope she is not crying as much as she was back then. I loved seeing all of the pictures of your family. You know, when I was a teenager, I did one of those balls that made your hair stand on end also. My hair was down below my waist. I stood there holding the ball for a long time. It was quite a sight when all of that long, thick hair was standing on end!

Back to Potty Training

A couple of months ago I had tried potty training Andrew. While I could get him to sit on the potty, and occasionally do something, he just wasn't that interested. So, we gave it up. We still talked about the potty but he didn't sit on it any more. Once he started wearing his Fuzzi Bunz he really seemed to be more aware when he was wet/dirty.

But, last night I discovered the best motivation to get Andrew on the potty....Haley! I had been thinking of doing some elimination communication with her since I have a little Baby Bjorn potty anyway and she is pretty predictable about when she goes. So, after she ate last night I figured I'd see what she'd do. While she didn't do anything in the potty she sure made Andrew want to sit on the potty! Who needs a baby doll that wets when you've got a baby sister that does! :) Well, today Haley had two successful visits to the potty and we got Andrew his own potty (the other one was kind of small for him) so they can have potty time together. He is really excited and did go tonight, finally had to tell him it was time to get off the potty and come eat dinner! I hope he continues in his excitement tomorrow!

Apparently you can't take the Rhode Island out of the boy! For those of you how don't know, I'm talking about Andrew since he was born there. So we were in the car on the way home from church the other night and I was having Andrew practice saying the books of the Bible with me (super cute the way he says some of them). He was repeating them back just fine until we got to Song of Solomon. Instead of saying that he shouts out, "Coffee!" Ben and I look out the window and there's a Dunkin Donuts! I didn't think he knew what that was since he hasn't been to one since he was a little guy AND neither of us drink coffee! My mom does and she was just here but she only drank home brewed while she was here. Anyway it gave us a good laugh and reminded us of all our good times hanging out at DD with our RI friends. So, all you Rhode Islanders out there, the next time you go to Dunkin Donuts have a coffee and think of Andrew! :)

Knives

Apparently we are not to be trusted with them!

Sunday afternoon I was chopping veggies for our soup that night (with my nice and sharp Cutco knife) when I sliced the tip of my thumb. It really wasn't that bad, but it did hurt more than any other knife cut I've given myself before. You never really realize how much you use your thumbs until your thumb tip has a band-aid on it!

Well not to be out done Ben had his own run in with a knife today. He was cutting bread this morning for his lunch when he sliced the palm of his hand just below his thumb! He got himself good too. So, off to the ER we go! Oh, yes Haley had not yet had her morning feeding due to the fact that she decided to be Sleeping Beauty this morning and sleep in. I was actually feeding her cereal when Ben cut himself. She was NOT happy about being loaded into her car seat and skipping breakfast. Thankfully the hospital is close so as soon as we checked Ben in I was able to sit down and feed her.

Ben ended up getting three stitches in his hand and now knows the correct way to use a bread knife. :) Let's hope that there are no more injuries here for a while!

Oh dear! So glad that he didn't do more damage than that! Hugs!

ouch! my sister-in-law just recently cut one of her fingers getting the tag thing off her daughter's sunglasses. She had to go get stitches too. I hope your fingers both heal soon.

me too! I slit the top of my ring finger by the nail...all we had on hand were Of course I couldnn't be seen out in public with THAT on so then it started bleeding again in sams and I had to get a new bandaid out of the box in the store. So now we have a lifetime supply of non-offensive bandaids.

Sorry for the recent injuries! Thankfully, I have used cutco for the last 7 years and chop quite a bit every day and have not had any accidents. Everyone else I know have....I guess God has just spared me in the knife injury department thus far:o)
