Weddings in 2011, huh? I'm attending another in Destin in May...who knows, maybe Sheli's will piggyback that one...still working out details. Congratulations to us all, I think.

She already sounds like a great choice! We loved twin cities and A&M through our time there.

Happy Holidays Everyone!

Hope you make incredible memories and take time to snuggle, sip hot beverages, watch some football, laugh so hard you snort and your eyes water! If you're a lady or a girl, I hope you have a lazy day where you don't wear makeup; I hope you get to bake lotsa desserts and then eat 'em! Take time to stretch luxuriously, hug those around you, and while you're embracing them, tell them how much they mean to you :) Give our God His much due praise every moment, and BE GLAD! I love you all!

aaw, December!

It got here fast, didn't it? so many changes this year, and so many about to take place! My step daughter Jamie is about to move to Arkansas and fulfill a dream and become a Razorback!!! We are excited for her and know she will do great, but will miss her too! Leah will be an only child for the first time in her entire life! That'll be different for everyone, but I'm gonna soak it up, cuz soon she'll graduate too, and WHAT? no kids at home. whoa. when i think about that I am instantly filled with both dread and a little bit of anticipation for what might be around the corner. yes, a bittersweetness. I am really excited for my children; this is a wonderful time for them; they are starting their own journeys and I can't wait to experience it with them, but BOY! am I gonna miss them and the way they make me laugh and know me so very well! I know that I will have some new time to do things I haven't had before too, though, so that's neat to think about....I know lots of you reading this have been in these very shoes...how did you handle it?

It is a little sad in the beginning (OKAY - A LOT SAD!) but a very wise older woman told me that I would learn to like it and I am beginning to see what she means. Hope Leah enjoys being an only child - a least for a little while :)

It was sad for about 10 minutes. (j/k, but it didn't take long to enjoy the time and just look forward to frequent visits)

What an exciting time for all of you. And while Jamie's leaving and Leah's gonna get to be an "only" for a little while, you still have Lyndan here, too :) Not the same as being in the house, but a great way to show you that you did your job - raising all these young folks to be READY to go out on their own and BE FAITHFUL and DO WELL. And letting them all know they have you guys as a safety net when they need it.

I loved seeing your parents with you across the building - I think you didn't stop smiling from ear to ear :)

The first thing you can do is be still! ;) Does that sound familiar? Be still and know that you have raised 4 truly amazing children who will go out and be workers in the kingdom! I love you and miss you so much at times that my heart aches.

We are doing very well, thanks. Our kids are definitely in the "start their own journey"-stage as well. My daughter's boyfriend was baptized last night and they are moving toward engagement (perhaps over the holidays). We are headed to Tampa for a few days on December 30th. Have a great time over the Holidays.

Anticipation!

My folks are headed this way this weekend for the Thanksgiving holiday! It's the first time they will be here since I've moved to Florida and I am so very excited! Thanksgiving was always our biggest holiday of the year, so it will be very special to have them here! I can't seem to catch up with the housecleaning and all the stuff you want to do before your parents come though! The weather is cooperating nicely, though, with the temps cooling off, a nice rain yesterday, and the trees just now starting to change! I hope all ya'll have a wonderful Thanksgiving; we really do have an AMAZING amount of things to be thankful for; I am thankful for all of YOU!
  • nzmom
Julie - how fun for you! Don't stress out about housecleaning and stuff - just enjoy them being here!

Autumn...

Delicious autumn! My very soul is wedded to it, and if I were a bird I would fly about the earth seeking the successive autumns. ~George Eliot

Thanks, Julie! I went to bed last night feeling really depressed. I woke up this morning and told all the kids, "No body is going to be grouchy today!" So I found something I can eat this morning, but had to read the label a few times and hope I didn't miss anything.
