A great week worth a post!!
This week a GREAT friend made his first visit to the farm. He also made his first post to pleo. So everyone, should go welcome Ira to the club. I have known him since my freshman year at FC. He was always a great friend to me while I was getting situated to life away from home. I have seen him once or twice since then, so it's been a while. It is funny how long it has been, since we have had a chance to hang out, but how quick you can just pick up where you left off with old friends. As most people know, when they come to visit me, they usually spend some time riding in an 18 - wheeler hauling grass. Ira was more than willing to come with me several days while he was here. It was a great to have Ira come along for the ride. He also went to the Astros game last Thurs. night with the EDG group, Fri we went to The Woodlands with Micah and Joella, the rest of the time we just visited with people around here and I just showed him around. It was definately a GREAT week!!
Lydia had Lasik eye surgery last week, so she is enjoying that. She really likes not putting her glasses on every day. It is really an amazing thing that eye doctors are able to do these days.
I haven't traveled as much as I have in the past summers. I believe San Antonio has been the place I have traveled to this summer. A very unusually slow summer, with no Alaska trip this year for my dad and I.
In San Antonio I stayed with Jonathan, Nina, and Tyler Moody. I had a blast!! It is always a GREAT time when you get the chance to go and stay with that family. If you come visit me you might haul grass or even install it. If you go see jonathan, he'll have you on a mower, or pulling weeds. One thing that is for sure, you will have a good time while you are doing it...
As most of you know, my brother, Blake is in Iraq. His birthday was last week, if you looked at Lydia's post, you would already know that. If you have any free time at all, he would love to hear from you. Over there, I am sure he is just happy to see an envelope that says it is from the United States. That has got to be a cool feeling over there. There is also another guy, his name is Andrew. I met him at church when i went to visit Blake in NC. He is a great guy and we have kept in touch with him also, while he has been in Iraq. So just any type of note, card or package would be greatly appreciated by me, my family, and especially Blake and Andrew.
Thank you so much to everyone who did send him bday cards and packages. He said he recieved over 50 cards one day when he talked to mom.
