Any interest out there for a day trip to the Cincinatti Zoo this summer? I'd like to go either there or Pittsburgh but have no definite plans as of yet besides the fact that I want to go. If you are interested would any certain time period work better? Let me know:-)

So we were supposed to have our singing service tonight but the roads are bad and services was cancelled :-( I like snow but not missing services.
I have here beside me a song book opened to the song How Great Thou Art. It talks of God's creations and his power and of Christ's sacrifice for us. A reference is made to Ps. 92:5...."O Lord, how great are Your works!.." God's power and might and love for us are shown not only through His word but also through His creation. The intricacies of the earth, the animals, the stars, the weather, human life , etc show His power and might. It's easy to overlook some things but how else did these things come to be?...certainly not by man. Gen 1---In the beginning God.....
vs.31 " Then God saw everything that He had made, and indeed it was very good..." The earth, the air, the water, the animals, etc....made by God.
Gen 8:22--"While the earth remains, seedtime and harvest, and cold and heat, and winter and summer, and day and night shall not cease."
God has started and we cannot stop.
Some people dislike bugs but even the tiniest of these six-legged creatures no matter how creepy to some, are God's creation and show his power. Some dislike snow, but each individual, six-sided crystal shows God's power. We can see His power all around us.
Ps. 147:4 "He counts the number of the starts; He calls them all by name."
He know the number, He knows the names, He is ALL KNOWING. We can hide nothing from God.
Mt: 6:26 " Look at the birds of the air, for they neither sow nor reap nor gather into barns; yet your heavely Father feeds them. Are you not of more value than they?"
Ps. 148
"Praise the Lord! Praise the Lord from the heavens;
Praise Him in the heights!
Praise Him, all His angels;
Praise Him, all His hosts!
Praise Him, sun and moon;
Praise Him, all you stars of light!
Praise Him, you heavens of heavens,
And you waters above the heavens!
Let them praise the name of the Lord,
For He commanded and they were created.
He has also established them forever and ever;
He has made a decree which shall not pass away.
Praise the Lord from the earth,
You great sea creatures and all the depths;
Fire and hail, snow and clouds;
Stormy wind, fulfilling His word;
Mountains and all hills;
Fruitful trees and all cedars;
Beasts and all cattle;
Creeping things and flying fowl;
Kings of the earth and all peoples;
Princes and all judges of the earth;
Both young men and maidens;
Old men and children.
Let them praise the name of the Lord,
For His name alone is exalted;
His glory is above the earth and heaven.
And He has exalted the horn of His people,
The praise of all His saints-
Of the children of Israel,
A people near to Him.
Praise the Lord!"

so this needs an update. Trista had some rough days but then ended up with some good ones too. They ended up giving her a pain pump which helped. She hasn't been using the amount of meds that she was allowed over the past few days and she is now being sent home. Yay!! I'm so thankful that prayers were answered!
We had most of our xmas before mom and dad left but Lord-willing Josh and I will be eating at my grandparents sometime on the 26th. I then hope to make a trip to NC before I have to go back to work. We shall see how the weather is after the 26th. Apparently with all the snow this past weekend the interstate was a mess with traffic sitting for hours and unleaded gas was hard to find in some places too so we'll see. I'll have to check these things before I head out:-) Have a safe and wonderful holiday!

It's December.
I've been told it's snowed once but I missed it as I was in NC.
We still have flowers with bloom. There's been a rose bud in the flowerbed behind the house...still there...and other flowers are still going by the side of the house.
On Nov 21st a cherry tree at the farm had blooms on it and new leaves...

The storm that dumped snow in TX gave us rain today.
We can't say it's been a usual winter:-)
Hope you all had a great thanksgiving and are enjoying the unusual winter weather so far!
On a more serious note, I know two people that are having some serious surgery this month (14th and 15th, back and skull) and possibly another with surgery (gall bladder) that could be more serious than it would be for others because of other health conditions. Without going into detail I'd appreciate prayers that all would go well with these. Thanks:-)

On break
Heading to NC in a few days to see T.
Happy Thanksgiving!
We should be thankful year round so what have you been thankful for this year, this month, this day, whenever?:-)
