Well, four years ago our young son entered the Army. I think he had almost made himself sick to even tell us. As a mom and dad, we had worries and concerns....would he have to go to Iraq or Afghanistan? After basic they said within 6 months he would be in Afghanistan. That brought on a whole new set of concerns. He went and my heart swelled with pride. My little baby that didn't want to climb ladders or trees was getting on an airplane to fly across the world and fight the bad people. While there, we got a call that he was injured but ok. We took the whole day off of work and waited by the phone to hear his voice. He was surprised we knew already but he didn't know we had been crying for most of the day. He finished out the tour with no other incidents (that we know of..ha) and we hoped and prayed he wouldn't have to go back. But alas he did. But we were so thankful that he only had to stay part of the time because he was getting out of the army soon. This tour was hard on all involved due to so many deaths his platoon endured this go-round. His guys are still over there and I know he is torn about not being there but happy to be back in the states. Today he left Fort Campbell a fine young man. Thank you, Jeremy, for not giving up when things were at their lowest.
It's not Melanie's birthday anymore so I guess I can change my blog....Well, there ya go! :)
Ronald and I want to wish a happy 25th birthday to our dear daughter-in-law. Thank you for putting up with us this week. :)
Sadly, my last teenager is going to be 20 tomorrow! It has been a joyful ride raising an only daughter. Ronald and I have been truly blessed by having her in our life. What would life have been like if we had stopped at Jeremy? Uneventful to say the least. Love you, Abby!
What to say, what to say? Hey! I just said it! Waiting intensely to see if we get snow. Hard to imagine with all of the rain we're having. It would have to be really, really cold in order for the water to freeze in order for the snow to stick. Da...da...da....that's all folks! :) ( In case you couldn't tell, that was to the tune of Bugs Bunny!)
