It seems like just yesterday that I was riding on the school bus heading over to Red Lion to play a basketball game unaware of what the future had in store for me. That was the one and only game that I brought my video camera too and boy, I am so glad that I did. After I video taped the girls game I went into the cafeteria to charge my camera and look back at what I had filmed. I had become oblivious to everything around me until I heard the sweet sound of girls laughing. I looked up and I saw the most beautiful girl I had ever seen in my entire life. She was like an angel, her voice sounded like sweet music being played on a violin, her eyes shone like the stars at night, I couldn't take my eyes off of her because she caught my heart right then and there and all I knew was that I had to meet her. But I being shy and not very talkative just sat there and tried to imagine what her name could be. Of course, it would have to be something lovely but I was interrupted from my thoughts by the same voice I had heard not that long ago. She stood in front of me and held her hand out and offered me a starburst. She then asked me the oddest question. She asked me if I was a good French kisser and must have picked up on my confusion because all of sudden she started explaining it to me by tossing the starbust into her mouth and then seconds later pulling out the wrapper with her tongue. In an effort to impress her I also threw a starburst into my mouth but failed miserably not able to unwrap the piece of candy with my tongue and instead ate the wrapper and all. I was then pulled into further humiliation when my friend Caleb accused me of video taping the girls backsides. I glared at him for the longest time. I tried to convince everyone that it was just all a misunderstanding and Caleb being silly. In disbelief everyone started laughing at me and the girl turned around and said "I know you think it's sexy." My eyes widened in shock not expecting her to say that. The girls then proceeded to exit the cafeteria when I glanced over at Caleb who was still laughing and thought to myself -what have you done?!?

You might think that this is where the story ends but you are wrong. This very same girl that took my breath away and still takes my breath away every time I look at her has been my best friend for a year now. I know many people doubted me and thought that I wouldn't even make it past two Months or even two weeks. But I am so happy that God blessed me with a girl so amazing and talented to be my best friend. I know that destiny brought us together and I am so thankful to have her in my life. I pray that we will always be friends. One year, and hopefully many more to come.
