Sitting in the airport, delayed, waiting for my flight to Chicago. Hmmm..will I make my flight back to Dallas??
Hey - after this year, I am taking a big, fat, FREE trip to Europe using all my miles and points. I will ponder this as I am sitting here.
Good news: after our meeting dismissed early today, we took a quick trip to Hershey's Chocolate World. As someone said, 'You've found heaven'. We had a quick tour, small bite of chocolate, and bought some treats for our co-workers. I guess not a bad way to start your week!
Everyone have a good one!
Why wouldn't it be a great holiday? I have no children, but I have a mother, and I know a lot of great ones as well! We are especially blessed to have many wonderful mothers in our family. Remind me one day to tell you all about Granny, my Dad's mom. She's a particular favorite of mine!
Last Sunday along with my immediate family (Mom & Dad
& Tracy, Brad
& Brandi and 4 kids
), we were joined by Uncle Randy and Aunt Debbie and THEIR 4 kids (Crystal
, Calvin & Amanda, Cody & Casey.) We had a wonderful, although short, visit and got to spend some time with Baby Silas - whose parents have him living all the way in St. Louis! (bad parents!) No, they're fabulous parents, and Crystal is one of the many mothers we are blessed to have! I love them so much!
So, I know it's a week past Mother's Day, but call her anyway and surprise your Mom with a 'Happy Mother's Day! a whole 51 weeks early!
Here are some pictures of our great day!
What more could you ask?
Josh Kirby started this week working along with David Holder. We're blessed to have two wonderful men who work with our congregation!
Okay, check out my fellow River Oakians (Oakians? Oaksters? Oakites?) Marilyn
's posts in regards to the recent storm activity here in North Texas.
I wasn't here - I was in California (and yes, made it home in SPITE of American Airlines). But while I was out I did hear home updates and someone even said 'yes, you should be worried about your yard/house'- yikes! So, when I finally arrived home Friday morning at 2:00 a.m. it was with a little anxiety. BUT, after a quick check, all was well. Whew!
HOWEVER, on my way to work this morning, I saw a sight that actually caused me to turn my car around and take a picture with my phone. HOW CRAZY IS THIS??? This house is barely a block away from my own home, so I am very thankful!
(another crazy note, I think if you go back further through my blogs, you will see a posting about another fallen tree - the one that fell on my house. What's up with me and trees?)
