I see that some of my friends are still updating, so I thought I would post something!
I keep forgetting about pleo! Surely I'm not the ony one out there. I am so addicted to facebook, it isn't even funny! Sometimes,
when I am bored, I will just hit refresh. But that doesn't happen too often. ;-)
Well I finished my first year of teaching, and I survived! Not only did I learn a lot, but I did it with flying colors! I am very thankful
for all the mistakes I made because I truly believe I can learn from them!!! Now I know what doesn't work! :-) Thankfully the discipline
and the education part worked...because they came to my class barely able to write their name, and they left being able to read.
They are like little sponges...kids learn more than we give them credit for!
So, about to start my second year of teaching, and I am truly excited!!! :-) I pray that I have another successful year! It feels
WONDERFUL to be doing something that I LOVE! God has blessed me. Not only with a great job, but with an amazing husband,
family, and even my precious Bella!
We are pet sitting right now. I have watched dogs off and on for the last 2 weeks! More than I have in years! Too funny.
Bella loves it because she is such a social dog, so she gets extra play time! Like she is doing right now.... :-)
Dale just left for work, so who knows what my day will consist of. I would like to go to Sam's club and stock up on some
Propel water. I am addicted! We ran out a couple of weeks ago, and I need to get back over there! Plus I just love Sam's Club. :-)
This is my last weekend before school starts! I can't believe how fast my first "teacher summer" went!!! I babysat some kids all summer
so I was definitely busy...not a lot of relaxation..but we def liked the extra money! Plus it will help since I am starting my masters
in a month! I am doing the online program, and I have to be finished in 2 years...I hope I can do it!!! :-)
Love to my pleo friends! I am interested to see who will read this post!
Off to finish making lunch as I spend my day with no husband and 3 dogs.

So I am copying Kym because she is so creative when it comes to blog ideas...This will be nothing like hers, but
here we go. I haven't updated in awhile...too crazy!!!
January- hmmm...well my parents celebrated 31 years of marriage!!! :-) They are such a great example to me!!
February- Dale and I celebrated our FIRST Valentine's Day together as a married couple. We were able to get
away for a night, and it was so cool! He gave me the beautiful framed wedding collage that hangs
above our fireplace. SO sweet!!!
I was also still subbing as much as I could, but I was really ready for a change. I started putting in
applications and got hired at US Bank.
March- Started working for US Bank Home Mortgage, and I was really hoping to enjoy it! It wasn't bad, but I
knew I was just waiting to find my dream job as a teacher.
April- Celebrated my 25th birthday! I can't believe how young I still feel sometimes. 25. That is crazy.
May- Still working at US Bank and started to get better at my job. I made some good girlfriends, and we all stuck
together while learning about interest, escrow and mortgages. AHHH
Also, Dale and I celebrated our 1 year anniversary on May 31st!!!! It was amazing! We took a little trip
and stayed in a nice hotel for a couple of days. We watched our wedding video and reminisced. It was perfect. :-)
June/July- Still working at US Bank, but it is starting to wear on me. I was getting frustrated because I knew that
I was meant to be teaching somewhere. I was just patiently waiting!!! Then, out of nowwhere, I get a call
from the principal of the private school that I interviewed with last year. Last year, they had already hired
a teacher, but they wanted to interview me for future openings. I was really bummed last summer, but I knew
that God had a different plan for me. So...back to June...I got a call from the principal saying they are talking
about opening a 1st grade teaching spot but it has to be approved first. He called to say that if the position
was approved, the job was mine because I was the first on the hiring list! :-) A week later, I find out that
the position was not approved, and they had already hired somebody else for the 4th grade opening. I got
all my hopes up, but I gave it all to God and prayed for comfort. I think it was just a few days later when the
principal called me again to inform me that he might have a job for me. Oh great- I am thinking it is like an
aide position or something...So I call him back trying to hope for the best...he informs me that one of the
K4 teachers had walked into his office that morning and told him that she had a great job opportunity that
she couldn't pass up. SO- she quit, and he called to ask if I wanted to be the new K4 all day teacher!!!
I was in SHOCK, and I couldn't believe it. My FIRST teaching job! Prayers were answered, and I LOVE
teaching! It is where I am supposed to be, and I am SO thankful!!!
August (4th)- My first day of my REAL career! It was overwhelming but exciting. I couldn't believe I had 14 little kids
that were MY students. What an amazing feeling, and I still can't describe to you how great it was. I
survived the first day...and the day after that...and the day after that... :-)
August 21st- We moved into our perfect house!!! :-) We LOVE it so much, and God has blessed us a lot!!!
September- It is starting to sink in that I am a REAL teacher!!! The first month is done, and I did it!!! I LOVE LOVE
LOVE my job. Some days are good and some are bad, but I love being a teacher.
October- I am starting to find out how much teachers have to do. October is BY FAR the busiest month of the year.
There are SO many things going on!!! I managed to survive and look forward to Thanksgiving break! Whew!
November- Everything at school is Thanksgiving themed, and I love it! We were making turkeys, cornucopias, pilgrims,
and we talked about being thankful for everything! I also had my very first FALL program! We were the
Indians, and my kids did such a good job. It was SO neat to be able to have my kids be in a fall program...
words cannot describe how amazing that night was. I was SO proud. :-)
Dale also had his 28th birthday! We didn't do much, but we were able to go out to eat and spend time
together. :-)
We got to spend Thanksgiving with my Texas family again. It was AMAZING, and I love the quality time
together since I only get to see them once a year.
December- School is insane! Once kids come back from Thanksgiving break, they are ready for Christmas to be here!
Teachers are ready TOO. We did a lot of fun Christmas crafts, and my room was totally decked out with
Christmas things!!! :-) I love the holiday season!
Dale and I were able to go eat a birthday dinner for Ashley, and we gave her a hilarious grammatically
incorrect letter. She about died. TOO funny. (If you don't know, she is the grammar QUEEN.)
During my Christmas break, we were able to spend time with all of our familes. It was great! I am so
thankful to have 2 weeks off!
Here I sit....I need to go to bed. Tomorrow is my first day back to teaching!!! Wish me luck! I hope you had a great year
just like I did! So many awesome things happened! God is good. :-) May God Bless you in 2010!
We are back from Texas, and we had a great trip! I am exhausted, and I feel like I have been run over by a truck!
In other news, I am so pumped that
Jess is having a BOY!!!!!! SOO excited. :-) Love you!!!
I am going to try and go to sleep. Wish me luck! K BYE
