Florida

I leave for Florida on Friday. I am BEYOND stoked! You would see it more on my face if I weren't knocked flat by the World's Worst 5-Alarm Migraine! Advil and Tylenol do NOT touch it, and if I took Excedrin Migraine I'd be up for hours...it's just how my body is. My eyes feel like they're going to just bust outa my head and I feel like I'm going to throw up if I move my eyes around very much. BUT...enough of that...I can't dwell on it otherwise I WILL get sicker...and not only can I NOT afford it, I can't be sick for my trip!

Please pray that we'll have a safe trip. I say "we" in that a co-worker is going with me. I asked her to come mainly so that I'd have some influence on her with the Bible. She gives all signs that she is searching for the truth, but I have a feeling she's not quite sure how to go about finding it--she's grown up in a predominantly Catholic family and is dealing with some difficult things in her home life. I don't know the whole situation, but from what I have gathered, it would probably be scriptural. While I encouraged her to try to work things out, I also encouraged her to step "outside her box" so that she can see the big picture, get a fresh perspective on everything. I'm hoping that things will calm down enough for her and that she will be able to enjoy her time in Florida.

I have possible job opportunities in Florida, I'm SO stoked! I'm ABOUT to finish up my portfolio so that I can have copies for schools down there!! I'm going to have probably 4 copies made. One for one school in particular, and the others for any possible interviews I may end up with.

I'll also be looking for an apartment that is doable for me...and my PUPPY! I'm getting a BEAUTIFUL white lab mix puppy! Born just a couple weeks ago, and I already have dibs on one!! In fact, the teacher who's giving them away just posted their two week old pictures!! ADORABLE!!

I'd better get goin'...lots to finish up and critique on this portfolio...hopefully this migraine will stop so I can get SOME sleep tonight!!

Next time I post I'll be in Florida!!

Things I'm looking forward to about being in Florida again...and things about Arkansas I'll miss...

The fact that I will be moving to Florida is hitting me over the head everyday. I have so much to look forward to, but there will also be things about Arkansas I'll miss too (yes, I actually said I'd miss things about Arkansas!)...

First the positive...the good things that I have to look forward to in Florida.
1. Getting to see my BEST FRIEND everyday!!
2. Getting to see Bonnie a lot!
3. Getting to see my friends and church family members at Henderson Blvd., Temple Terrace, North Livingston, and other places.
4. One word: BEACH!
5. Daily afternoon thunderstorms that cool you off for a (short) time
6. Getting to attend a Chapel assembly again.
7. NO SNOW!
8. Did I mention the BEACH?
9. Being only 7 hours away from my brother, sister-in-law, and future niece or nephew
10. Big city life
11. Multiple weekly bible studies, singings and other Christian gatherings.
12. Meeting new people!
13. Potential teaching job opportunities!
14. MOE'S!!
15. Did I forget to mention the BEACH!?
16. The Tampa Bay Ladies Weekend! Man, have I MISSED those!

And now the things I'll miss about Florida.
1. My kiddos at Mathias--they're AMAZING and I wish I could loop with them to see them grow up!
2. The people I've become friends with at Sam's (while NOT as numerous, we're pretty good friends).
3. My family.
4. The group of Christians my parents worship with at Downtown--they're pretty awesome people...
5. The group of Christians I worship with and have gotten to know at Westside--they're amazing people...
6. The kids/teens at Westside--while I know I can do that in Florida too--it's different with each group, ya know? These kids are pretty special!
7. The traffic--it's not as bad as Florida, but I don't mind the occasional slow-pace.
8. Sandy, R, J, M, and B. Sandy is R&J's nanny and I've baby-sat for Maddie and Benjamin before. They're some cool cat kiddos!
9. The annual Fourth of July Celebration at the Pittman's.
10. Driving to Dallas for WOW each February (maybe I can fly...oh wait...)
11. My family.

I'm headed to bed. It's been a LONG, numb, exhausting day, and tomorrow (at work anyway) will be much the same.

Remember: You are past wonderful!

:(

So...the plan (we ALL know how well MY plans work out...) was for John and I to go to Florida together over Spring Break...

I am for now going to Florida on my own...with the possibility of a passenger or two...

I'm okay with it. I really didn't have time for a relationship right now anyway, and it was MY call, not his.

Besides, he was VERY closed minded about going to church, including insulting me by saying I'm "too churchy" while he...isn't...

All I know is, in the long run, I'll be better off...besides, he was trying to get me to stay in Arkansas! Now I know we ALL know THAT won't happen! lol

I have 78 days, or 47 school days until graduation! I. Am. Ecstatic. You. Have. No. Idea.

I've gotta get me some sleep...We're leaving at 8am tomorrow to go to Dallas for the WOW Retreat. I'm SO looking forward to it.

Remember: You are past wonderful!

Well, you gave it a shot and you made good decisions. You can feel good about that. Your life is headed a good direction. Praying it continues and that more blessings are right around the corner.

**Warning** Rant post

I need to rant...

I don't get why people have to be so "woe is me" when someone else is joyously celebrating over something!?
I mean, they let the devil totally get under their skin on this oooooooooooone particular thing.

While I can't go into detail one what the celebrations are, it's a "second step" after a "first step", okay?
My rant!? I'm not even to the "first step", LET ALONE the second, okay people, but you don't see ME boo-hooing and crying over someone else's joy!
I'm HAPPY for them, and immerse myself in whatever ways that I can assist a person who is experiencing this extreme joy as my way of saying "Congratulations, I am truly very happy for you!" Not "oh crap, there goes another one"... I get down sometimes about something that I don't get to experience yet, but I don't keep it in the forefront of my mind! I tuck it away into my filebox in the back of my brain, and move on. Yeah, Satan tries to bring it to the forefront of my mind when yet ANOTHER friend or person I know goes through the joy that I have so desperately wanting, BUT I don't and CAN'T let it get me down!

WHY DO THEY LET THE DEVIL GET UNDER THEIR SKIN!? People should be rejoicing with those who rejoice!

I really don't get why people cannot be happier for those who are rejoicing!
These are the types that when you try to offer advice and they don't listen, hey whatever, it's unsolicited, it's not always wanted or taken, which is fine, but then, they hurt you by saying that they called and talked to someone else, that SOMEONE ELSE other than you gave them some good advice (usually the same things you said) and made them laugh/feel better/see things differently. And it DOES hurt, but you get over it...and they don't get over the "situation".................................

I just don't get it.

**End of Rant**

Any thoughts?

The rest of that verse is "weep with those who weep"....we all have problems and to each of us those problems are VERY real. We just need to all be there for one another no matter what the situation....happy or sad.
