Trip to Alabama

Had a fabulous time in Alabama with my 2 brothers. But the best part was getting to see my 3 1/2-yr-old niece Neleah. She sings and dances and gets cuter every time I visit. I can't wait for Daniel to send me the pics and video he took on his new camera. He shot some really good stuff. Till then, I'll have to settle with this from my camera phone.

On the way home, we passed through Castleberry, Alabama. I couldn't resist. :)

We assumed it referred to the attendants at this school, a block down the street.

Excited about my plans for the next few days... thought I'd share. :) Going to a July 4th celebration tomorrow with Alex. Should be lots of fun!

Can y'all keep a secret?? My brother David, who lives in Alabama, has a birthday this weekend. He was born 7/7/77. So, if my math is correct, he turns 30 this Saturday 07/07/07. Cool, huh? I think so. Go ahead and check my arithmetic. It would be really embarrassing if I showed up and announced the wrong number. Anyway, I decided to surprise him this weekend. Well, he ended up finding out a few days ago that I was coming. But, what he DOESN'T know is that I'm bringing our 17-year-old brother Daniel, who just happens to be visiting from KY right now. A much better surprise, I know! So... nobody say anything, okay?

Love that sea of orange!

Camp was awesome! Best one yet. So many great kids, so many great memories. Makes me smile every time I think about the week. One of my favorite moments happened the last night when my cabin of 5th and 6th graders got to stay up late and have a party. After an hour or so, 4 of my boys and 1 from next door told me they wanted to have a Bible study and asked me if I'd like to join. Are you kidding me? Does it get any better than that? Yes, a late night, but I had help driving the next day.

In other news, I went to the Southside lectures tonight. The lessons there are always great. I decided this year I was going to make the most of the week. So I plan to go tomorrow and Thursday.

Speaking of camp and the lectures... when I left camp, I had let my car run for about 15 minutes with the A/C on full blast to let it "cool down" before my trip home. When I got in, the heat was on full blast. I blamed it on DBake when I saw him at the restaurant, but he adamantly denied it. I couldn't believe it wasn't him, cause it's sooooo like him to do something like that. I was so tired, I thought maybe I had just turned the heat on myself. Well, I finally learned the truth today. Bubba confessed when I saw him at tonight's lectures. :)
