RNC and me
I received a "form" email from Michael Steele, the chairman of the Republican National Committee today, asking for money to support the RNC. Among other things, this email said:
"Scott Brown's victory in the special election for the U.S. Senate in Massachusetts shows our Party can win anywhere in the country when we have a principled, conservative candidate backed by the RNC's network of grassroots supporters."
If Scott Brown is the Republican's idea of a "principled, conservative candidate" then obviously the RNC has COMPLETELY forgotten what the words "principled" and "conservative" mean. Watch out, those who call yourselves "conservatives" because this is the kind of candidate the Michael Steele will continue to push. I think I need to find a better description of my political beliefs if this is what is considered conservative these days!
This is what I sent back to Mr. Steele:
"As long as Scott Brown and his kind are considered 'principled, conservative candidates' by the RNC, you can FORGET receiving a donation from me! The man posed nude for a magazine photo shoot. I think I could use a little less 'principle' than that. He is pro-choice, the anchor position of the left-wing, liberal, feminist for over 40 years! How is that conservative?!?
"If the RNC wants the support of CONSERVATIVES, maybe they should start supporting a conservative platform and REAL conservative candidates!"
