People are unreasonable, illogical and self-centered.
Love them anyway.
If you do good, people will accuse you of selfish, ulterior motives.
Do good anyway.
If you are successful, you will win false friends and true enemies.
Succeed anyway.
The good you do today will be forgotten tomorrow.
Do good anyway.
Honesty and frankness make you vulnerable.
Be honest and frank anyway.
The biggest person with the biggest ideas can be shot down by the smallest person with the smallest mind.
Think big anyway.
What you spend years building may be destroyed overnight.
Build anyway.
People really need help but may attack if you help them.
Help people anyway.
Give the world the best you have and you might get kicked in the teeth.
Give the world the best you've got anyway.

Last week in church, we had our end-of-the-quarter singing. Usually we have the singing and scripture readings around a certain topic. Our topic on Wednesday was Praising God. We sang a particular song that I have known my whole life but this time I sang it and really paid attention to the words. The Chorus esp. caught my attention:
"If Jesus goes with me, I'll go...ANYWHERE
Tis Heaven to me, where'er I may be
If he is there.
I count it a priviledge here, his cross to bear!
If Jesus goes with me I'll go....ANYWHERE!
and I found myself tearing up in the middle of the service...which has happened a few times. I have never thought about what a PRIVILEDGE it is for us to go through life bearing the cross of Jesus. It's not always easy but it is indeed a priviledge. This got me thinking even more. I started thinking about all the things that Jesus went through: the teasing, beating, humiliation, and cruel death that he suffered. And again, I found myself to the point of tears.
Sometimes, we complain about the most insignificant things like getting a flat tire, losing our jobs, having an ugly car...whatever IT is that we complain about. I'll admit when things aren't going smoothly that I complain too. We all do. That song got me thinking that maybe I should work on that and instead of seeing it as a hassle or something that ruined my day, that I should think about all the things that Christ has done for me and hopefully will continue to do.
We are so blessed compared to others and we take it for granted...ALOT. I think mostly because a lot of times in our busy lives we don't stop and count all the blessings and freedoms that we do have.
Just some things to think about.
